The Wiki says the bug still exists where the journal will not close if you've chosen to Paragon this quest.  I was curious if BioWare had ever spoken on whether or not this was purely cosmetic.  I know there's also a goof with the space station/residential area choice quest, but BioWare had clarified that the journal is wrong and your proper choice is actually flagged in the guts of the save.

I wanna know if I Paragon Ish and the journal is left open, did the game actually flag the quest as completed via Paragon route, or does the game consider it incomplete?

I second that question. It used to bug me during my playthrough.

Anymore input on this? This mission and Arrival are the only two things I haven't done in my "perfect" file that I'm going to import into ME3.

Well, given that you get the persuasion points and Ish leaves if you talk him out of pursuing it, the game is definitely recording what you chose. It seems the problem is purely that someone forgot to close out the journal entry properly. You also mentioned the Javelin assignment, which proves that the flags for the Journal are separate from the flags for the actual choices.

This is always bugged me as well, so much so that in my canon playthrough I decided to just give the info to Anto just so my journal wouldn't have that glaring incomplete in it. I don't think you even get paragon points for paragoning Ish but you get a few for giving it to Anto so...I guess it was the right thing to do? Meh.

Anyway, like didymos said, fairly certain it flags it but it just doesn't close out the mission in the journal.

With ME3 production in full tilt I'm not surprised there is no answer from Bioware. Still, it has bugged me as well so knowing one way or another would be nice.

Agreed - I'm literally saved right next to Ish at the moment.

I'd like to end it the paragon way but if ME3 imports this choice (which affects Aria who will no doubt play a part in #3) then I might just have Ish 'dealt with.'

So yes - Bioware tell us!

Did this assignment this morning. I chose the paragon path, and it's still in my journal as well. So ditto what everyone else has said.

I noticed that the Wiki is no longer referring to this as a bug. They say you can complete the quest by talking to Anto after you Paragon Ish directly. Gonna try this in a bit.
