"Sentinel has 2 new powers. Lift Grenades that make enemies float in the air & defensive passive Fitness boosts health/melee"

"Amplification got cut? #ME3 #Sentinel

"Yes - it wasn't working out the way we wanted. It was good in theory, but there were some problems with the way it worked"

This update says that Lift Grenade has replaced Amplification as the Sentinel's new class-unique power.   I really liked the concept of Amplification and I don't think I like the Sentinel having a glorified pull/lift instead...that infringes on the Adept's territory of performing solo biotic combos.

I'm sure Bioware knows best, but this is my initial reaction.  EDIT* Thanks Vertigo!

I dunno how much could have changed from when this was taken. Maybe he means Fortitude for Fitness?

My canon shephard approves of this new power.

Amplification was just Tech Armor but without the explosion yes?

This is why the Sentinel is best. They can be used to do everything

You can have a support, tank, crowd control build

They have confirmed that Fitness is the new version of Fortitude.

Nah Amplification amplified your Biotic/Tech power strength and gave bonuses to power uses when you alternated between Biotic and Tech powers.  It was kind of the offensive compliment to the defensive Tech Armor.

Aren't they adding a new offensive power anyway? Also, I like incenerate better than cro blast. I think cry shouldve went to the infiltrator and incenerate shouldve went to the sentinel. but cryo is better crowd control.

Oh, cool.

Maybe they thought three passives were one too many, so I wonder if Amplication got rolled into the other two passives?

That'd be sweet, IMHO.

Sentinals have always been good for debuffing, crowd controlling, and tanking. adding incenerate would have been redundant anyway since sentinals already have warp. They did the right thing in me2 by giving 2 cc powers and 2 debuff powers to the sentinal.

You're the best Vertigo.  Well I'm pretty disappointed, but we can still boost power strength with evolutions of Tech Armor so w/e I'll get over it.  I liked the lit up omni-tool animation for Amplification though...I was going to have two different Sentinels, one with Tech Armor and one with Amplification.  Back to the drawing board.

oooh I like the lift grenades you could do things with those but you could also use regular biotic lift but at least they got rid of amplifcation.

That was an earlier version though, so dunno if that will keep for ME3 and we don't know how much havoc enemies can unleash on that amount.

Hmm I doubt the lift grenade will be detonated by warp. One of the perks to being an Adept is performing your own unassisted warp-bombs.

Until you play the game, don't judge the changes too harshly.

I was just about to say the same thing, if lift grenade can be detonated it would make sentinels able to pull off their own combos. I was also wondering if lift grenade would be tied to a cooldown, or if it is limited to a certain number per mission

Lift grenade doesn't sound too impressive to me.. I'll probably ignore it for Fitness, Tech Armor, Warp, Throw, Sentinel Mastery, and Overload. If I want a group of enemies floating in the air I have Liara.

Why do people play as a Sentinel?

Jeez, grenades in Mass Effect 3 sure sound magical.

Sounds kinda meh, but I don't even have a Sentinel so...oh well.

Powerful and efficient, the Sentinel is probably the strongest class in Mass Effect 2. I personally find it mind numbingly boring.

Yeah, I was kidding. I've seen their overall edge, I'm actually doing a Sentinel play-through right now; currently in Mass Effect 2.

agreed, they were more fun in mass effect 1 imo but in 2 theyre completely overpowered, made insanity a peice of cake.

Sad sentinel? Are you mad you fool?

This news most likely means that one of my pet peeves for the sentinel has finally been nullified. Lift orbs (refuse to call it grenade) should allow sentinels to finally detonate their own warpsplosions and execute lift/throw combos.

Works for me.
