I am having a problem with DA:O recognizing my NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 3GB

It wll only reconginze the onboard intel graphics(though not bad) but I would like to see the differrence(grumble...)
I have the option of choosing the vid proc when starting the game but DA:O only shows intel????

There should be a switch setting in the nVIDIA driver settings to eliminate the onboard chip. You do not have any "pair" of real CARDS. Intel hasn't chosen to make a real card in thirteen years now, maybe fourteen, although they had planned to try to beat AMD and nVIDIA using a ray-tracing system and spent a fortune on development, but never got any speed out of it and gave up, a few years back.

Yeah I know that it's not actually two vidieo cards, actually there aren't seperate cards at all, With the Intel being onboard (built into the motherboard) and the sames goes for the Nvidia, Dell had the board premanufactured with the Nvidia chip system included. It's really more of a headache than anything else, It allowed for the use of Nvida's Optima battery saving option, but I have no use for it. but the L702x was a good crossbreed for a gaming laptop and a professional.
With that out the way, I was just curious if someone else with a similar setup had ran into same problem.
Thanks for your repsonse though...

Are you having this problem with both DA:O and DA2? Have you tried bypassing the launcher and running the game executable itself? For example, in DA2, it would be Program Files(x86)>Dragon Age 2>bin_ship>DragonAge2.exe.

Since the launcher is a 2D application, it may make sense that the Nvidia chip isn't being triggered. Just a hunch based on previous posts.

I am not an Intel graphics fan at all so, were it me, I'd simply disable the Intel chipset in the device manager - permanently, thus forcing all applications to use the Nvidia GPU as it would be the only one working.

will keep that in mind, though once I am on the move again, I might like to be able to switch for bat pwr, this thing is a hog even with a nine cell pack. but If it does look I am going seditary, then your idea will be ruminated upon.
