Spoil is the wrong word, but she has a negative impact, instead of her being there, a character who would improve the game isn't in the squad. A character who, clearly, more people are in favour of, and who would make Mass effect 3 a better game.

How does Tali not improve the game? In fact how do any of the squadmates in the top 6 of your poll improve the game? Do you mean gameplaywise or just in your view that the majority is always right?

At last! Someone who is educated in their response!

Yeah, that would be just in my view, which may be wrong. Story wise I suppose. Miranda has a much better reason to be there, in my view.

I can see people will disagree, but isn't that the point of a forum?

Oh, good grief, not this topic again. At this point, I have only one thing to say: the ME3 squad isn't changing. If you don't like it, then you can just

If we are talking about characters that don't contribute to the story I shall point you in the direction of Garrus Vakarian.

Did the devs say they only put Tali in the game because of the fans?

Again, not sure, but (i wasn't here then) I have been told numerous times that her fans kicked up a fuss when it was reoprted she wouldn't be. Now, I have no idea wheter this is true, and fools like Welsh Inferno will have a go, but let them. At least most of us here have an IQ above room temperature.

We don't know why Tali is a squad mate again.  Also, BW never commented on whether she would or wouldn't return.  I think prior to ME2 came out, a dev mentioned that she might not because she can die on the SM but that's not confirmation that she wouldn't be an ME3 squad mate.

We know that after ME2 was released, there was a 124535353 page fan thread asking for her to return as a squad mate in ME3.  Some infer that this is the only reason she's coming back, which isn't necessarily true.

Edit:

Yeah, when Preistly posted that I went into a huge fit of nerd rage. What about Samara fans, Grunt fans, Miranda fans, Jack fans, Thane fans. What do we get.

Wait, is that true?  I haven't seen that post.  Do you have a link?

Sorry, I don't know how to make links but it is in the "Casey Hudson says..."/twitter thread.  The post is also quite old, it was made sometime right after the VGA trailer came out ( I think ).

Tali fans didn't "throw a tantrum" to get her in. Her, Garrus & Liara are all in the same boat. One factor for them being selected was the sheer number of each of their fanbases.

You are probably right. Yeah, i can see your point. But should popularity be the deciding factor? It is A factor of course, but hopefully not a major one.

Yes. Even as someone who doesn't really care for "Team Dextro" it has gotten tiring.

I tried for it not to be, but i got sidetracked. Sorry.

Back on topic, does

Wrex
Liara
Miranda
VS
Garrus
Legion

sound like a good squad. Maybe add Tali in as well? Would it provide a good enough balance. Problem is, no new squaddies. But the question may arise, did we need new squaddies every game?

Permanence may not equal the best way for character development and story telling.

just kiddin about the earlier post mordinkrios. I personally could care less if tali hadn't made the cut. But it seems like people are just blowing smoke at this point. not everything will be perfect with ME3...There sure as hell was nothing perfect about ME2 either. I'm inclined to go with Cthulhu42.

Exactly; take Legion for example. IMO, his role in the leaked script is better than anything he could do as a full-time squadmate.

I am a Wrex fan, but honestly I'm not mad that he isn't a squadmate. I believe he could do much more storywise if he remained the leader of the Krogan. So maybe Wrex's spot could be given to someone else MordinKrios...

You know, it's funny though. If the squad was made up of different people, for example - Legion, Mordin, Jack, Thane, their fanbases would be saying "deal with it" while the others complain.

Is that just your opinion? :P

Yeah maybe, although Chutlu's point is a fantastic one.

However, judging by cameos in previous games, we may be disappointed

VS on Horizon.
Wrex in ME2. Bit shoddy for me.

Of course, but i think people are angry at the pure (almost) ME1 = ME3 squad + Vega + spoiler

If it were half ME1 +  a few ME2 = ME3 squad, i for one, wouldn't be as dissapointed.

This. I trust Bioware to make great cameos for the smaller characters (Parasini, Shiala) but when it comes to the VS and Wrex... really? Both were terrible. I think I speak for 90% of the VS fanbase when I say that we were thoroughly angered by the cameo. Bioware should learn from their mistakes this time.

Yeah I said it.

We have already shown screenshots of Tali as a party member, so that wasn't the news. The news was that she may not have been made a party member, but fan demand for her after ME2 definitely swayed the Devs into making it happen.

And people say BioWare doesn't listen to the fans.

This, pretty much.
