I had her with me for every mission ever since day one, getting to like her more with every chat - getting a vibe of something more behind the scenes that naturally fit, but was never included as a possibility by the writers.
Not being free to get with her in ME1 just made me want her more in ME2, when everything just fell into place, building perfectly on the events and vibes of interactions in the first game.
Not to mention that after the Normandy got spaced, and everything was supposed to have been lost or ancient history, running into her again on Freedoms Progress seemed like a second chance to catch up with her. The dialogs and reaction to her old commander coming back from the dead just gets to you even more, whether your a hard sob or a softie
