If he's an M/M option. If not, then probably just leave my manShep FOREVER ALONE.

Might make a femShep. Probably romance Liara if I do.

On one of my playthroughs I decided to try romancing Liara. I've never gone any other way.

Hopefully it was one of those "tweaks" they were talking about doing after the scirpt was leaked.

Dude, weren't you the guy who looks exactly like Vega IRL in that other thread? Wouldn't that be like masturbation? lol

All kidding aside....

I'll be carrying across my playthrough with my Thane romance in it and I am hoping to see that one through ME3.
However, if my friends cruel jokes about his appearance in the game being at his funeral (thanks guys) then I'll just... I don't know...

...
cry
..
and hope Joker becomes available.

It all comes down to profiles really...everyone's been marked at one point or an other by a certain encounter or whatnot in real life that shapes your ideals and interest.

I'm breaking down the characters as they would appear to me in a real life, no bounds situation. Not loosing touch with reality :P

1. Ashley's alright, but she's the hard career woman you can never really make it last with..I had a fleeting suspicion of her dismissal of Shep even before the cold shoulder actual on Horizon..That lack of trust always lingered, when she would second guess my every call in the field during the Saren campaign. Been there, done that, got drunk over that - the profile had me running in the other direction ever since.

2. Liara was an almost; had it not been for Tali, the draw might have happened...but after rescuing Tali in the wards..my eyes just locked, everyone else faded :P And then, 2 years later, Liara's 180* of what she was like - her innocence gone, replaced by a cold, hard, meticulous instinct of the hunter, out to get the Shadow Broker with no room for compromise or any distraction...Regrettable, and so realistic story wise, that it happened to me more than I care to remember in life.

3. Miranda is perfect to an intimidating extent...physically and psychologically. Determined, hard to get, cool under the radar in a way that you feel you have to work hard on every step forward...It's the ideal chase, for the prize every man everywhere would kill for...and that's what makes her ultimately unremarkable. Other than those traits, there's nothing I could really relate to that would make me wanna fight for her. That profile is a valuable female friend in real life, but the passion just ain't there.

4. Jack - crazy biker chick with breath taking eyes. That there is my weakness, sure, but eyes won't cut it when her personality just doesn't fly with me..not as a Li anyway. I'm still wary from the last time I've been with a girl like that..

5. The Justicar really just imprints this image of an older woman into my mind - and there's nothing wrong with that. But, I'm 24 and still very into..how to put this, more crazy summer love closer to my age than a serious partnership with someone my senior.

6. Kelly - flirty, red headed people person; very adventurous, although she doesn't say much other than respond to Sheps' advances. classical hit it and quit it, something that a man who's over booty call - or incidentally in the middle of trying to save the galaxy, against all odds, from a devastatingly overwhelming enemy nobody's ever seen - just wouldn't bother to go for.

7. Tali - it all comes down to preference. Which is impressionable, like I said earlier.
All the profiles I mentioned - forget it. She's neither, and I couldn't try to describe her coherently to save my life. But I'm gonna try...

She's the type you never go for because you look for her especially. We're all fixated on the Mirandas around us. We go to crash and burn, one guy after the next when we spot her.

We chat up all the Kellys in highschool, at the beach, at the club. We make girls like Tali cry or feel neglected on the open scene...some of us, maybe all of us. Real life is to fast paced, despite no remarkable causes or moral issues like the ones in ME - that's why some of us never meet a Tali in life, despite wanting to.

The girl you let slip away once because you never said anything, and regretted later. The one you'd do anything to have a second chance with, when you realise you gained nothing by going for the more popular choice in women in the past. And then there was Freedom's Progress :P

Tali is that sweet determined girl that you don't see at the usual spots on Friday night..but you better believe she has a lot to offer. Maybe not to everyone, but to those that agree, the brief idea behind her profile in ME might have given us something to think about..

She's the kind of girl you're not intimidated to approach, but are terrified of turning away by saying something stupid. The way we fight to gain headway with a girl like Miranda, we struggle to keep a girl like Tali around at all. You break your own rules and open yourself beyond what you might call safe. You stand in a position where you can have her glow or hurt her beyond recovery - and break yourself over it aswell. In her eyes you just wanna grow.

The shy, but capable type you wanna protect nontheless. Hell, she's obviously got talents and strengths that make you look like a junior grader. She decides to trust you or not based on your actions, not appearances. She's consistent, in a way that she doesn't change throughout your time together..Whether she's giving you prays or reprisal, you know dang well why you're getting it...She's there for you as much as you are there for her..not less and never more.. And she's open to commit, if you put in the work.

Heck I knew someone like Tali at some point and Bioware just surfaced that when they introduced Tali..Hoorah! :P

^ I like this post. I can't concur in all points - but that's a matter of taste.

Kudos for not bashing particular characters. Seems to be rare these days ^^

At Carlos Freelance:D. I loved your reasonings.

Here is the one I would have picked.

Mine would have been the high tech ninja that is Kasumi. For me she was the most interesting character. I tend to like the thiefs, bards, stealth, assassin type characters for their daring, wit, intelligence and renegade type personalities.

She also has that awesome shadow strike, flash bang grenade and her tactical cloak actually turns her invisible rather than just being high tech camoflage. A Geth Hunter and Infiltrator Shepard can still be seen when they have their tactical cloak on.

The most charming character who doesn't overload you with a long list of insecurities and is simply happy to see you. Shame you can't engage in a conversation with her. Also has the most interesting spot on the ship. Stars, drinks and really old books.

Having said that, I'd be worried about her nicking my wallet and going on a spending spree. She's a thief after all.

Of the available ones I'll go for Liara.

For a 24 year old, you're one hell of a profiler/psychologist. Well-said! Image IPB
