Hello everyone!

Recently, my Xbox 360 Slim's HDD has been making noises and I'm not convinced they're normal. So in a bit of a panic, and considering it won't allow you to make a copy of your save files, I've moved my completed characters up to the new Xbox Cloud. I'm not exactly happy about it, because I've heard of people's saves getting overwritten or corrupted on the Cloud. I guess I could have moved them to an external drive, but I'm not trusting of hardware at the moment either.

Now, should the worst come to pass, and I end up losing my HDD, is there any reason why I couldn't download them onto a new drive and put them straight into ME3 when the time comes.

I only ask, because ME1 used a hidden save for the import into ME2 if I remember correctly. Does ME2 do the same thing?

On a side note: I've also moved the Mass Effect 1 "Gamer Profile" save. I
understand this contains stuff like bonus talents you've unlocked based
on your achievements. Would this go back onto a new drive without a hitch?

Thanks in advance! :D

With respect to the Cloud storage I can't see why you can't just transfer saves on Cloud onto another HDD; unless there's something preventing it.

As for a hidden save....without ME3 no-one can confirm either way whether ME2 uses such a system. I would think that only post-Suicide Mission saves will be recognised for import in ME3 though.

I don't recall the ME1 Gamer Profile containing that sort of info you mention (it might, I just don't remember it). All I remember is that it contains a record of all your characters for easy access. I don't see any problem in transferring either; not as such anyway.

Thanks for the reply! It's much appreciated. ^_^ As you say, there shouldn't really be anything to affect it, but since it's a new thing to the Xbox, I'm still a bit wary.

I guess I'll just hope for the best that everything goes off without a hitch. Can't wait until March! :o

You can move things back from the cloud to another storage device, so you're fine there.

Since the ME1 release does use "hidden" files, you'll lose those imports if you can't fully transfer all the data from your drive. I appear to have lost mine due to flushing the system cache to try & fix an issue with Dragon Age 2 that turned out to be related to the Games on Demand version of that game & nothing with my system cache.

Luckily, the ME2 save games have a flag that is set within the save itself to prevent problems with failing to import if the "hidden" file is lost.
