Why not just keep everyone? It's like ME game involving Shepard, why not go out with a bang?

Truthfully I wouldn't mind some anti-alliance squaddies either. A batarian squaddie would've been perfect for this but that's not happening. D:

A batarian squadmate will most likely be anti-humans, not only anti-alliance. Though I agree, I'd love to a batarian squadmate. Though overall I'm fine with the squad we have in ME3. It could've been a lot better for me, but there's still some of my favourite squadmates in it.

True. Lucky you. I have a whooping total of 2 characters I like and one other I can stand. The rest make me want to throw something. (and depending on how the treat one other one he might go into the can stand catagory.)

Yep that could have been interesting, especially as his/her relationship with Shep would have been very antagonistic.

Yes a nice rivalry would've been great.

And they are keeping everyone.

They're just trying to make everyone have at least some relevance to the plot and not be there for the laughs.

Like a inexperienced quarian girl who's barely out of her teens becoming an admiral. It's supposed to be totally serious and relevant.

Tali is 25 in ME3. Where I come from, that's considered an adult, since most people that age have started their own families.

Lucky you. I'm not particularly fond of any of the returning and none of the newbs sound interesting, though i'll reserve judgement till i play with them. Just hoping that Beta leak was completely old and inaccurate as all my favourite characters were butchered into the glamorised cameos in that.

I like how you completely ignored the latter half of my comment. Admirals are usually 50-60 yrs old. So a girl half that age is obviously suitable for the task. Because removing squad members is supposed to give them plot relevance and not be there for laughs.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, permasquad-status is overrated the hell out of. Mainly because of the connotation that the word "cameo" has come to carry with the likes of Horizon fresh in peoples' minds. But like anything, it's quality over quantity.

As a perma-squadmate, you're getting ~4 conversations/5 tops until dead-end of "I'll be around, honey!", a love scene (if LI) and some tidbits here and there on a mission (on that note, none of Jack, Miri, Jacob, or Thane are particularly talkative in the ME2 missions compared to the rest of the party).

At the same token, you can get far more meaningful interaction by giving them a plot-relevant role in the game (and basically everyone is important, squadmates' lives matter more than most decisions) plus something special for romance continuity, and all you really miss is some party dialogue. IMO, a small price to pay for an overall improvement.

Ouch. I was hoping we'd at least be able to pick our squad for endgame from everyone.

That would've been awesome. I really wanted to try at least one time Wrex with the new gameplay.

I ignored it just as much as you ignored the fine details.

She's a temporary admiral. Nobody is trying to hide the fact that she's too young. They're just trying to replace her father's place and they need a quarian geth expert, because they need as much as they can get.

I feel the same way. If Tali had a temporary spot, but it lead to a good conclusion, it would have been enough for me.

There's really no need for me to bring someone special along to hear them say the exact same things the other squadmates have said at a certain location.

I understand people saying Wrex shouldn't be in the squad, he is on his throne..leading the Krogan etc...

I get it, but surely the same can be said for Liara. She has far more important places to be than hanging around the Normandy.

And if Tali is now an Admiral and Garrus high up in the Turian Military, don't they now have responsibilities to tend to. Does being an Admiral take priority to being Shep's squaddie?

Probably not for garrus and Tali but certainly for Liara..

Yeah, it was my mistake to assume you had the ability to read and understand the aspect of things.

Don't worry. It won't happen again.

I'm sorry  but forgive my as   laugh  my arse completely off - So  that means likes some like myself who did not turn over the evidence but did not take the Paragon speech and stuck with the neutral option.  This means that  Admirality comes crawling back...

Sometimes certain squadmates did have unique dialogue on missions that others didn't, though. Like if you took Jack on Miranda's LM, or Garrus/Tali on Thane's. I'm hoping there'll be more of that in ME3.

I'm fairly sure that she is not an Admiral if she was exiled.

I do partially agree with this, although cameos from non-squaddies in past games may not suggest so,

Some people have suggested that each ex squaddie will get a LoTSB style cameo. If that is the case, I am Happy as anything. But, if the cameo trail we have seen in previous ME games continues, I am not Happy.

That's all you got? Pretty weak considering we're typing on a message board. But like I said, my soap dish is more capable.

You're forgeting that Liara has Feron to take over for her while she is away. The same is probably true for Garrus and Tali.

This.

Liara even flat out says being an information broker is a fulltime job in ME2 (it's her reason she can't follow Shep around in ME2). So her getting far more information...means she can now do it partime? How does that work?

Unless Feron is doing most of the heavy lifting in which case...why doesn't Shep at least have the option not to take Liara along?

That's true, but they can probably find a replacement for that, like if the squadmates starts something by saying "I read the reports from *that location* and I feel *that emotion* about *that thing*"

If it's important or feels that that certain person of all people should acknowledge such facts, that is.
