I like how you completely ignored the latter half of my comment. Admirals are usually 50-60 yrs old. So a girl half that age is obviously suitable for the task. Because removing squad members is supposed to give them plot relevance and not be there for laughs.

I ignored it just as much as you ignored the fine details.

She's a temporary admiral. Nobody is trying to hide the fact that she's too young. They're just trying to replace her father's place and they need a quarian geth expert, because they need as much as they can get.

I'm sorry  but forgive my as   laugh  my arse completely off - So  that means likes some like myself who did not turn over the evidence but did not take the Paragon speech and stuck with the neutral option.  This means that  Admirality comes crawling back...

I'm fairly sure that she is not an Admiral if she was exiled.

Good... becasue the would not make any kinda of  sense.

I understand people saying Wrex shouldn't be in the squad, he is on his throne..leading the Krogan etc...

I get it, but surely the same can be said for Liara. She has far more important places to be than hanging around the Normandy.

And if Tali is now an Admiral and Garrus high up in the Turian Military, don't they now have responsibilities to tend to. Does being an Admiral take priority to being Shep's squaddie?

Probably not for garrus and Tali but certainly for Liara..

This.

Liara even flat out says being an information broker is a fulltime job in ME2 (it's her reason she can't follow Shep around in ME2). So her getting far more information...means she can now do it partime? How does that work?

Unless Feron is doing most of the heavy lifting in which case...why doesn't Shep at least have the option not to take Liara along?

Imagine if there were an option to have Feron or Liara. Hm. The mind boggles. (not really)

As long as she explains why she can become a squaddie in ME3, and it isn't a really bad excuse, i won't mind. But if she doesn't, then, a good example of possible poor writing.

I initially felt the same way when I heard she was a permenant squadmate, but after reading the leaks, trust me, there is a very good reason why she's on the Normandy instead of anywhere else.

She says that after just taking over.  Given some time to get used to the role and given her intelligence, she could have changed things from how the yahg Broker operated in addition to having Feron assist.

Plus, considering that there's a full-scale galactic war going on w/ entire sectors under seige it could be possible that she's repurposed her network for the war effort.  She is the boss, after all, and this is one time that certain sides will need to benefit from her information at the expense of others.

Incase of Liara it is explained.

At the time of Me2 she was sorting through data. Trying to find a solution to stop the reapers. It took her most of me2.

*SPOILER*

During this entire time she knew the base was compromised and TIM would attack some time. So she prepared a shuttle and left with most of the equipment. After blowing up the base by sending the ship charging towards a cerberus cruiser.

Which sounds fricking Awesome.

Liara said a nice F*CK YOU to TIM. Before leaving.

She is still the SB but in the Normandy with less power and has EDI helping and Feron is working as a field agent.

If it is so, that your entire squad from ME2 including ME1 will be involved in some way, I had hoped to choose who could go with you.

@Mordin: I doubt it honestly.

@ODST: Yeah I don't buy it. You don't turn a full time job into a part time one because there's a war going on. Feron is almost certainly doing all the heavy lifting.

Yeah her repurposing the network for the Reaper war doesn't suddenly mean she's getting less intel...if anything she should be getting more.

I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't look like she was forced. There's zero reason she should be forced. If Feron is fine she could hide with him.

Frankly if there's this whole "well...s/he's not on the squad because he/she's important and has better things to do!" Shep shouldn't have anyone save maybe Garrus from the old squad on his team. Tali should be busy with the quarians, VS should be busy with the alliance (and doing their own thing apart from Shep. Vega already is the alliance soldier if the alliance wanted to keep an eye on Shep sending two of their best soldiers on the same ship (especially during a galaxy wide war) is a bit eh.), Liara should be SB and probably fighting the war on another front, and so on.

We should've gotten a bunch of new people.

I'm sure her drones can do some work for her too.

Buy a VI assistant or something to keep check on things while she's gone.

So she's not actually managing anything. She dumps most of the work on Feron's shoulders and does what she can when she's not running around on the battlefield with Shep pretty much?

She might as well let Feron be SB if she's gonna take that type of attitude on the job.

Granted like I already said this wouldn't annoy me so much if she wasn't forced.

Feron is doing field work like he used to for the Old broker.

Liara is still managing most of the SB stuff.

If she's still managing most of the SB stuff she shouldn't have enough free time to be running around with Shep. She has to be either pwning it off on Feron or she never sleeps which is highly unlikely.

I really wouldn't mind so much if people didn't go "LOL X has better things to do then follow around Shep!" while having Liara and Tali banners.

Uh...yeah so do those two. Your point?

Hell pretty much everyone from ME1 and ME2 have more important things to do then follow around Shep. Like helping their species prepare for war against the Reapers.

ME3 should've had a full new cast as well with ME1 and ME2 people having LOTSB style cameos.

True. Lucky you. I have a whooping total of 2 characters I like and one other I can stand. The rest make me want to throw something. (and depending on how the treat one other one he might go into the can stand catagory.)

Lucky you. I'm not particularly fond of any of the returning and none of the newbs sound interesting, though i'll reserve judgement till i play with them. Just hoping that Beta leak was completely old and inaccurate as all my favourite characters were butchered into the glamorised cameos in that.

But that script is too aweome to be inaccurate.

I didn't read all the things that are in, and while I don't think it sucks like a part of the community, I don't think it's awesome. In truth, There were some things I really liked, and some things I didn't like much.
Though to be fair, I prefer to wait and the final game to give a real judgement over the game.

I'm fine with the ME2 squaddies going off to do their own thing if it means more banter and an option to build a more meaningful relationship, romantic or otherwise, with the crew, squaddies and non.

I don't consider it to be a complete horlicks. It just falls far below the minimum standard as far as i'm concerned.
Obviously final judgement will come at the end of March.

You don't have to buy it.  You can come up with whatever little fantasy suits your needs.

If the Reapers are isolating systems and communications as they did with Earth, then her network will be decreasing in volume.  If the Reapers are harvesting entire systems, her network will be reducing in volume.  If Cerberus is attacking key communications hubs or eliminating vital informants and clients then the network will be reducing in volume.

You act like the Shadow Broker network would operate in a vacuum where outside influences won't make a difference.  You also act like Cerberus knowing the identify of the Shadow Broker and were the base of operation is doesn't create any potential issues for her.

It can make sense, even if you don't like it.

Yes and the above can apply for every single character in the ME series. The devs just decided to play favorites with some and not others.

It would be but that also makes her close to worthless if she can't communicate with outside sources especially if she decides to travel on a starship with Shep. Her resources would be better served trying to fight Cerberus head on to stop them from destroying key communication hubs and informants instead of following around Shep or trying to track down Kai Leng and TIM. What good is a private army if you're not gonna use them? Hell she could use herself to lure Cerberus into traps and divide their attention between her and Shepard.

And of course Cerberus is too stupid to realize where the Normandy is right? Shep's about as subtle as a pink elephant. If she's so concerned about being found it might be a good idea to not travel with the one person who has a giant "ATTACK!" sign on his forehead for the Reaper (and Cerberus by extension) forces.

Anything can make sense if I don't like it I never argued that. This though? It feels extremely contrived to me. Even more so since Feron apparently can hide just fine (since Cerberus is almost certainly looking for him as well).

You assume that Liara retains a private army and didn't spend 6 months transitioning into something new. It feels contrived because you haven't seen how it actually plays out. It will probably still feel contrived to you even if explained because it's not what you want.

Like breather masks.
