I was replaying and I wanted to ask a few things about it.

Why wasn't the ship or crew recovered? I mean it was a top of the line ship and surely after the crash the aliance MUST have investigated the crash right? However most of it is still there including the mako which seems to still be in good tact.

The same goes for the crew since you're finding the dog tags of these dead bodies it's safe to assume that the bodies were also left there. So again why didn't the alliance recover this?

Now another rather interesting thing I noticed is that the galaxy map area (where the flashback of Presley takes place) seems to still be smoking. How could this be if this crash happened 2 years ago, yet it seems to still show some sign of energy emission to be smoking?

The ship needed to be there because it's more impactful for the player/Shepard to see the beloved ship that they depended on as well as the dog tags of those who served with you on it in a smoking heap, furthering their desire for retribution against the game's main villain. That's certainly how I felt when I visited it. In minor cases, I think it's okay for story to trump logic.

To see your previous hope of stopping an invasion of sentient semi-organic AI completely trashed as if made of toilet paper is intended to invoke feelings of nostalgia, anger, new-found determination, etc... in the players drive to win. The alliance could have easily found/recovered the Normandy hours if not a few days after the distress was sent out but to actually see the dead Normandy instead of just pieces on some deserted planet hits closer to home. Could be explained as a memorial in-game as to leaving it alone?

There are similarities to the USS Arizona, though the Normandy lost fewer crewmembers.

Stealth frigates are like Cuban cigars, they burn for a long time.
