If you don't want your fans to be hysterical and spout conspiracy theories, perhaps you should say something reassuring on the subject...
On Topic, yes. I agree with this. Though I know that the mods here can't do anything, it doesn't help EA's PR when something that has probably already been long-decided still hasn't been released to the paying customer.

I can't believe we still don't have an answer.

Ok, watch it not to get this thread locked (if you want the discussion to go on that is).
Most important thing that we all are arguing about is... Origin being mandatory to play the game. Some of us (srsly I dont know how many, maybe minority but might as well be majority) want ME to be free of Origin. What have the other side to propose to change our minds? Only that they dont mind. Fine, if you dont mind that means its meaningless for you if there is no Origin requirement. Our position does not affect yours if we have it our way. So why do you argue?
You dont mind, fine, but I do. End of subject. You can go your own way, I'm not a street preacher, not trying to convince you (well, maybe a little) or change your pov. I want EA to notice mine. So I'll be here with my banner while you can go after your other important things.
Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
PS
if EAs goal was atisfaction of their 'fun-base' it would give the player more choice. Right now they are trying to shorten the already undersized leash.

In my case, not even that. It's just the data mining part. If there's an opt-out option I haven't got a problem. If data mining is mandatory, I'm not a potential customer.

This, I would have pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 from Origin MONTHS ago were it not for this.

People who are here fighting about Origin client in ME3, aren't fighting to remove it. They are fighting for freedom to choose do someone want to use Origin client or not. That's it, a choice for everyone. At least when game is buyed as hard copy from shop for single playing. Digital copy and MP is different cases.Serrow wrote...
To me, that is utter horse****, and nothing will convince me otherwise.
At least can somene here say, if i buy my single player game (ME3) from local shop and i don't play MP features. Why would I need to install some digital distribution software into my computer? When I would NEVER have any use for it.
Then there is also people who are fine by installing Origin client, but don't like it's data collection abilities. So, these people want the choice to say no for data collection, so they can keep they computer privacy.
In general people here want freedom to make they own choices and not been told (forced) what choices we should be doing.

For me, it's both. It's that it's mandatory, and what it's capable of doing.

Given Bioware's history of making quality games, most of us refuse to believe that software like Origin would not have already been decided on and programmed into the game just 2 months before release.
So that means you guys are deliberatly misleading us and not answering the question when you do indeed have an answer.
Not that it would stop some of the threads from appearing regarding origin and EA but it would at least slow down honest questions if you know you just answered the question, that you obviously would have an answer to.

This pretty much. I refuse to believe that this is something that hasn't/still not been decided on, not with less than 2 months before release. Any answer would be grateful, yes/no/maybe/we are currently working on a solution are all acceptable to me. So far all we have gotten is just silence on the issue, aside from warnings about what people post. Oh, and the ever so quick to lock threads attitude that seems to follow origin threads.
You may say people are getting conpiracy theorist-y, but what do you honestly expect? With dead silence on your part, you force people to draw their own conclusions.
I could respect Bioware even if they say, "Yes, it will be required". I won't like it, but at least you told the truth. Every day without an answer on this issue, especially when we were promised an answer months ago just looks like you are hiding the information from us. If we have to wait until a week before release to get an answer, then i personally lose all respect for a company with those practices.

Well, there's already been two 100-pages Origin threads closed and many other, smaller ones. And this thread is on a great track to be another 100-pages. I say this is rather clearly a big issue.Yuoaman wrote...

But considering the number of people out there who aren't complaining, it's not a lot really.

Most people don't reflect on what that really means.
On the one hand I blame that on social networks and on the other hand I blame it on the "I don't have anything to hide attitude". Without going too far off topic, this attitude is most common when governments decide to cut even more of our rights and our privacy.
As I said, people don't reflect on why rights to privacy have been introduced in the first place.

Is that reason not to give everyone a choice as what they want, when they choices does not affect anyones else choices?Yuoaman wrote...

I mean there is just 3 choice.
1. No Origin client, just play ME3 as single player game. (hard copy from shop)
2. Origin client without data collection. Player wants to keep they privacy.
3. Origin client with data collection.
Problem is we get only choice number 3, not others.

I check back on this topic to see if there's any USEFUL information or links being provided about Origin. But mostly see the same arguments, opinions and speculations; very little factual information is being present that I haven't already seen.
Speculate all you want about why there is or isn't an answer to the questions of Origin, the EULA, etc. Arguing about all these speculations won't speed up or slow down the answer.
It's possible there are valid reasons for the delay (i.e. the legal issues over BF 3 in Germany). It's possible there aren't valid reasons for the delay (i.e. it really is a conspiracy).
For whatever reason, the answer isn't here yet. Maybe someone can start a poll with all the possible and impossible reasons there isn't an answer yet. And several months from now, we can see how accurate or inaccurate we were. Or start an Off-Topic conspiracy theory, so we can keep this thread reserved for information and links or even some humor to lighten things up til we do get answers.
Thank you.

Considering threads here rarely cross 100-pages unless they're character/meltdown/official threads, I say yeah, it's quite alot. Not to mention how many gamers don't know anything about Origin and they don't know what comes with it. Just look at this thread and "what exactly is Origin/the problem with it?" posts.Yuoaman wrote...
