If you are 18+ ...

http://sinfar.net
direct connect: play.sinfar.net

Its one of the most active servers.

Its a social server so the main focus is that players can easely interact with each others. You wont feel alone there, if you do, either join the main party or use the in game player list to initiate a meeting with a player/character that interest you, or just to let others know what you are looking for.

The world is huge, if you want to adventure, you will be entertained for quite a while with all the areas that are waiting to be explored, the monsters to kill and the various quests and enigma to solves.

ArgentumRegio is growing and welcomes new PLAYERS - we feature many RP-enhancing tools unique to the server and have a low HAK requirement (cep 2.1 or better). See our web site for details at

http://playnwn.com

Hope to see you online!

Be well. Game on!
GM_ODA

p.s. this is a very DnD style world, very like the original Dungeons & Dragons so be prepared for immersion. :D

Don't necessarily confuse "most active / highest player count" with "best place to play".

A lot depends on what kind of game you're looking for.  For example, if you want a PnP DMed campaign style of game, the average PW won't likely give you that (Neverwinter Connections will).

Post a little more information about what you want and the community will be able to give you more options.

Hi RM33,

I have not checked which server has how many players on at a given time, this also will be infulenced by what time zone you run in.

I can tell you that Higher Ground POA in the Action section of Gamespy  highergroundnwn.net  averages about 60-80 players at peak times which are normally 5:00pm US west coast or 8:00pm US east coast.

This will drop off to 30-50 players off peak thus EU zone when the US players are at work.

I believe our slowest zone at the moment is Asia with roughly 20-30 players on in that time zone.

Though I must say that sheer population size is not all you should look for, active updates, DM involvement, special events, friendliness of the players should all be considered as well.

If you do want to give HG a try, look for me Bin So Bad, I am on every night at 5:00pm west coast US and I would be happy to introduce you around and help you get the feel of the place.

All the Best,

Bad

I believe HG is the most active, though that will vary by time zone. As for best, we've also been the #1 rated server on the Vault for over 6 years, and have pioneered many cutting edge systems in use by many other PWs. What is actually 'best', however, will depend on you.

This.
You've already been offered a social server and an action server. Both very different. Do you like creating a character to play out, or just want to join up with people to bash monsters as 'yourself'?

Indeed, best is relative to your wants/needs. Most active, PoA, and HoW for action. Quite a few others are fairly active as well. RP... is still quite strong in nwn, although I can not speak to what are good servers. PvP, you might want to check out DeX, or badlands. Looking for a post 40 mod? Well HGLL (e.g. PoA) is fantastic. Badlands also has up to lvl 60 I believe. If your looking beyond that in terms of leveling, LoC I believe supports post 60, and of course the original post 40 mod Aventia (AventiaG, and Aventia 3 Merged- Unlimited Levels.) And these are just a few of the ones I am aware of, I am sure there are many other equally stellar realms. Most PWs that are still around today have either endured the test of time, or bring something new and exciting to the table.

Here is to a soon to be, 10 years, of a robust nwn 1 community.

Cheers all,
Laz

anything like fork still going on? other than the 'a persistent world - old' ? im looking for something that makes use of the later NWN updates including HOTU , the current fork server seems to be just a museum of nostalgia, which is cool but i want to actually get back into the game and have new experiences. the thing that i enjoy about fork is that you dont have to go through any bull**** to play the game, there are hardly any quests, the main town is small so its community oriented. there were other towns and shops out in the world but at the point that i stopped playing people were finally starting to update to add new areas and HOTU things. thats what i would like, a simple action server that doesnt have a gimpy story line or require you to reach endless text boxes or roam around for hours in a huge main town and never see another player even though it says there are 40 online.

ALSO. im thinking about getting in contact with the guy who actually runs the old dusty fork server to see if he will consider updating it . that would require also finding the newer fork modules which would be a task in itself. but if anyone is interested in this idea send me a PM

Kinky Kingdom Kissmet has been around for 10+ years and is a very stable server with 20+ players most of the time. Even though in the "Social" catagory, Kissmet has RP, PvP areas, events, a great DM team and the Host is very active and online most of the time. If you know how to use the toolset, you are allowed to remodel your home. We are Social because we do not allow anyone under 18 years old to play, due to sexual content. We do not use CEP, but have our own haks. Please check out our forum:
