(Yet another) Waterdeep Emissary Issani bug

Hi everyone!

I've recently ran into another weird Waterdeep Emissary quest bug and would really like some help.

The problem is:

I made my way through Bonegnasher/Eyegouger dungeons, killed the shadowpriest and found Issani (yes the real one, this is my 4th or 5th playthrough ^_^), but didn't ask him for credentials and just told him to get to safety after which he disappeared. When I got back to Old Owl Well I reported to Callum, he gave me the reward etc etc, BUT when I get back to captain Brelaina in Neverwinter, my only dialogue option related to the quest is to say I'm still looking for the emissary. So I can't advance any further. In addition, judging by the dialogue options, Casavir seems to think we're still at the Old Owl Well.

And yes, I only quick-saved all the way to here, so reloading is not an option. I thought maybe there's a console command for force-advancing a quest? Or spawning an NPC so I can ask Issani about the credentials (which are the problem I think)? None of the user-made fixes help.

Any ideas? :(

If you don't want to wait, kevL (search for posts by him) has posted numerous script interventions; dig up one of them to glean the method, then open 1300_Old_Owl_Well in your toolset and find Issani's conversation. You should be able to fire the script. Alternatively, you may be able to simply change the variable to the necessary value in your globals.xml file.

I already tried poking around the globals.xml, but I can't seem to find the correct variable. Is there a reference table or something where I can see what's what in there?

To get the line in Brelaina's conversation (10_brelaina in module 1700_Merchant_Quarter) "I found the emissary at Old Owl Well and he is safely in Neverwinter" you need to have the global int 10_brelaina_state set to 110. Yours is set to 100 currently.

I don't mess with the globals file myself so I can't tell you how to change it.

Don't use Quicksave. You should keep uniquely named saves after every major thing you do. Not sure how you have played through 4 times without learning that. You must be very lucky.

Thanks, you're a lifesaver! ^_^

And regarding the quicksave... I pretty much remember where the major unfixed bugs/glitches are (at least in the pre-SoZ versions), so I usually manage to avoid them. Oddly enough, this one was completely new and caught me by surprise =)
