 Hi fellow gamers.

Dragon Age 2 was a contrast from DA: O as many of us have expressed. There are things I love, like, and hate about the second part of the DA franchise. And yet? After reading comments and seeing some youtube clips. The Anders rival romance intrigued me. I always felt the rival romances were ridiculous and made no sense..

My curious nature had to know..

Okay.. Two Anders endings.. For those sick of hearing about this.. I'm sorry? :) I created two endings.

First) sided with the Templars.. Anders agreed to fight with my character. He said it was his atonement for Hawke sparing his life, and for what he did.. Well. here is the pisser.. When arriving with the Templars, before the final battle. He tells you he will always love your PC, kiss her, and dumped her! WTF? haha *Shakes head*

Ending two) Hawke sides with the magi.. Anders goes on about wishing you killed him but that he should have trusted you.. He also gives the option to stay with him or not.. Now.. I chose to stay with him, I mean, why not? she allowed him to live and fight with her. No kiss, and a declaration about their kids born to magic can be free and future magi.. Er.. First, this confused me. He is a GW, is he an idiot, or hopeful about having kids? AND.. No end kiss

BioWare has a mean streak.. I'm just saying....  :P

Still. even with BW's twisted sense of humor.. Rival romance with Anders, is the
best of all of them.. I STILL cannot believe I am saying that. This outcome made it worth playing the game again. Well done. :wizard:.  I always killed him off prior to this..

This is why I always kill Anders, heck I wanted to send him to his death since Awakenings.

The pre-battle scene with Fenris is much more fun. ;D

I've gotta say though, if you do a full rivalry with Anders, the various dialogue scenes can be fantastic, as can the resulting scene when you can make The Choice, and really highlight the extremes to which he is prepared to go, reflected in his final act.

In fact, I'd say that rivalry for both Anders and Merrill are the best of the two. Fenris as rivalry is a bit too mercurial for me, although I do think it fits his character.

Agreed! I was actually blown away by the conversation options. None of the other Li have anything so in depth.

Aww., I liked him in Awakening.. He amused me..

As for sending him to his death? I always did, until this play through.. I personally found him to be..... well. He erned his death.. Alas.. I have gaming OCD. I always want to know all venues and choices..   :)

Out of curiousity, when you sided with the templars, did he give the impression he was going to commit suicide? May be he wasn't so much dumping Hawke as trying to spare her the pain of his death.

As for the Grey Warden bit, I found in Awakenings that Anders really didn't want to hear about the down side of being a warden and in any case, seeing as he probably thought he never would be able to have a normal life (GW or not), he probably didn't pay much attention to infertility issues.

Does Anders only agree to fight with the templars if he is in a rival romance? I've only managed to fully rival him once but not romanced and he still wouldn't agree to it.

Fully Rival, Romance, and side with the templars.  I did read you have to be in a romance to achieve this.. He was a rival before, but not a romance choice. He refused to assist..

And yeah.. In Awakening. I assume his greatest joy was being away from the circle, without anylizing his new life to closely.. It makes sense anyway.

Well to be honest Anders and Hawke can have kids its just when two grey wardens mate that the chance of conjouring an offspring is highly unlikely, and His magi ending felt bland for me it was less passionate then again dumping him when he gave me the option to stay with him or not felt rather good since he dumped me on my last go :/
