Agreed! DA2 was amazing! I don't care what anyone else thinks I loved it! <3

Batman Arkham City is probably mine.

I love DAII to bits, when I need a break from ME3 I'll start a new FemHawke again. I find myself returning to DAII again and again but cannot play DA:O anymore. I would be very happy if we could get at least one more dlc but I'm not feeling too optimistic about it. Keeping my fingers crossed anyways.

I agree with you OP! Despite having some flaws, I really enjoyed DA2 for many of the reasons already stated.

+1

It allowed me to roleplay my PC as no other BW game had ever done. (Let's remember that RPing doesn't mean mimicking your personality into a computer character...)

I preferred DA2 to DA:O. Now I must find a shield to hide behind...

Then I find your taste in games appalling and think that you, as a consumer, are a blight to the. Keep gaming market and possibly to the world itself.

Notice I did not say your opinion was wrong or invalid, but my counter opinion of your opinion is that I think little of your gaming tastes.

EDIT: Changed "appealing" to what it was supposed to be, "appalling."

Just shows I shouldn't be trying to post on the BSN from my phone.

Well I guess it could be your favorite game of 2011....if you didn't play any other games that year at all.

As for my favorites, it's Skyrim followed by Batman Arkham City

You find his taste in gaming appealing? I think you mean appalling.

Well I did play other games that year and Skyrim did not appeal to me. I liked DA2 better than Skyrim. Bethesda has not told a good Elder Scroll story since Morrowind.

I found a playing a glorified messenger not the best basis for a story either.

Totally agree, was my favourite new game of 2011. It was very dissapointing to hear some of the things that were said about it and to be honest from reading these forums i felt that some people had turned agaisnt it before it was even released.

While i agree that it wasn't perfect and there were some flaws (enemy waves im looking at you) I found the wonderfull gameplay, characters and writing really set it above anything else released this year.

I hope bioware don't lose sight of some of the great things they did with Dragon Age 2 when developing Dragon Age 3.

Well that's very kind of you to say, Personally I thought it was a good game myself and was expecting an expansion pack myself but I saw a few reviews go on about all the bad things in the game.
But for me I'd just nag about how all backgrounds were the same and how annoyingly the enemy NPCs would spawn with most of those reviews.
That's that though, I didn't like that they just decided to kill DA 2 out of the blue, it is what it is though.

Worst game I played in 2011, BY FAR, all genre included.

I won't bother listing all the games I played since they are not all RPGs, but The Witcher 2 and Skyrim (in that order) were on top of my RPG list in 2011.

Bastion was mine, but I do love DAII... close call there.

For all my naysaying, I did love it a lot ;P

That's quite a statement to make considering how many amazing games were released this year. As for me, I couldn't disagree more. It was probably the worst game Bioware has ever made.

Um yeah.... that explains why you have a Femme Hawke for your avatar. You hated the game soooo much that you wanted to show everyone how you hated the game by using an avatar from the game?

The game was awesome. So sad I listened to opinionated reviewers when it first came out claiming it was horrible and delayed picking it up. Almost all the criticisms of the game I read were completely wrong and baseless.

You obviously did not read what I wrote.  I bought plenty of games last year.  Don't tell me what my taste should be.

*Sigh* So depressed now, to hear of an expansion pack in the works for DA2 only to be told "sorry, we were making it but now can't be bothered, say goodbye to Hawke!" at the same time? Between this and the emotional effect ME3 had on my mind (I mean the *good* sad parts, not the ending, bleh), BioWare, you are killing me.

I don't like the idea of Hawke's story being resolved any way other than being able to play it because what BioWare envisions as what Hawke is is probably not the same as what my Hawkes are.  I bet it will be male Hawke running off with Isabella.  The only person my guy's ran off with in every playthrough was Anders.  I hope they manage to incorporate some of "Exaulted March" into DA3 but I will not hold my breath :crying:

As much as it might sound like we just decided 'we can't be bothered', I doubt you'd find anyone who feels more regret about the expansion's death than the people working on it. That's not to say it was the wrong decision - but there was a lot of passion and thought put into it. Having said that, there's no small part of it that we were able to salvage, and we think our future products will be all the better for it.

They mentioned that they'd bring closure to the events, but wouldn't canonize anything personal to Hawke. So... think about the events that resulted, not the people specifically.

Seems you did not play the Witcher 2 it makes DA2 look like the cheap nasty product it is.By rights a smaller company with no where near the budget should not be able to make a game that puts the other companies offering to shame.

Sorry, I really do apoligise.  I didn't mean it to sound vicious, I am just really disappointed because I *really* loved Dragon Age II.  I played it 5 times in a row (9 times overall between my PS3 and 360 versions) and I have not replayed a game even once, in a very very long time.  Come to think of it, the only games I have replayed since the Saturn/PS1 days other than DA2 is DAO and ME1-3!   That was after I finally forced myself to stop playing DA2 :D

I really just want to express how much I love the game and thank you guys for giving me one of the most special and memorible gaming experiences I've had in the last 25 years.  I can't wait for DA3, but, I only ever dreamed of an expansion pack for DA2 and didn't think it would happen so to know that is *was* happening has made me die a little inside.

One of the most exciting game moments for me last year was watching that EA press conference at 4am, going through all the boring sports crap and iOS rubbish to get to info about Legacy.  That excitment was only bettered the day I actually got to download it.

Edit: I should say that DAO is also part of that special experience *Alistair:wub:*  I always thought people that had the hots for game characters were a bit sad, what did you people do to me? ^_^

Playing The Witcher 2 would have made no difference to me.  I played the first Witcher after my 4th or 5th DA2 run and although I really enjoyed it, it was far from what I experienced with DA2.
