Has anyone cancelled their preorder after reading the leaked script?

I really liked a lot of what I read (and I didn't read it all, specifically I stayed away from the ending).

Frankly what I read just made me doubly glad that I had pre-ordered the CE.

And if you do like ME1 and ME2 is it not worth giving Bioware the benefit of the doubt?

They've already made two great Mass Effect games so the odds are looking pretty good.

But the only reason I greatly enjoyed  those games were the plot, I don't give a damn about the gameplay. Mass Effect 3 seems like it'll be great in the gameplay department, that's fine. I just don't like anything they've done with the story (except for possibly parts of the Genophage plot which is somewhat salvagable).

I followed the ME series for the story, ME1 was amazing and ME2 was great. ME3's script just doesn't tell me anything I like, no matter how it might be integrated.

Anyone who's actually cancelled their pre-orders probably wouldn't come to BSN any more - if they've already made their mind up on the game they probably have better things to do than hang around on a forum devoted to it.

I've heard snippets of the script, and the bits I've heard I rather like.

Well I need to do something while I wait for my Tau Fire Warriors to dry.Image IPB

Personally never got into 40K, although I played original warhammer for a few years.

I never read the script leak, but I saw the beta vids. I liked what I saw out of those. And my N7 Collectors Edition as of this message is still pre-ordered. I'm picking it up on 3/6/12.

Wait... you liked ME2 for its plot? That was the worst part about ME2. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Seems incredibly pointless to come to a forum about a game you're not even going to buy or like and just whine about it.

As if it's helping anything.

Because your opinion isn't the only valid one, dear. It's a public forum.

Sounds like a butthurt Cerberus fan.

They just don't quit do they?

Its funny when they complain about Cerberus becoming bad in ME3. If you really didnt expect that to happen then you must be an idiot.

Yeah ME 2 practicaly screamed at us that cerberus can't be trusted and they will betray us some time down the road.  What also is funny is that many of these cerberus drones absolutely loved ME 1 and in ME 1 we fought cerberus and wiped out some of their bases didn't even talk to them.

Lol i read it, thought about canceling my pre-order, but didn't. Most of the script is good, but i found a few parts cringe worthy and somethings just sound straight out of fan-fic. (If you read the leaks you know what im talking about)

I'm assuming you mean the ugh EDI thing right?

That's why I said "great", the Collectors were handed relatively poorly and it was rather disjointed feeling like everything was a sidequest but the overall story was handled quite well (assuming you count loyalty mission and squadmates as the "story", which in the end it truly was).

I joke about cancelling, but I have faith the 3rd installment will be at least AS GOOD as the second. If not its more time & energy for school & Skyrim

like when i played mass effect, only saw the trailer thought it looked good bought it had no idea what was going on, didnt check out anything on the game, and was literaly mind ****ed had no idea what kinda of story or what the rpg was going to realy be like, best game i randomly bought one day and will never forget taht day, mass effect2, watched Way to many spoilers before release and didnt feel all satisfied when playing it because of spoilers, still loved the game but those damn spoilers, mass effect 3, only spoilers i saw was the beggining of the game or well a small bit of it, heard bioware wants to change it to because of it leaked, other then that, not knowing whats going on in mass effect 3, till i play it, not even tempted to read the script if it is even real and not fake or old script

Didn't know this was a Cerberus thread.

Good to see I only like ME1 because of Cerberus.

... and we're the drones?

It depends on how much you like the cast, I guess.

ME2's story is bad if one thinks of it as about the Collectors and stopping them, but IMO the real story of ME2 is the "journey" of assembling the squad and preparing for (and ultimately carrying out) a suicide mission. I think when it's thought of that way, it makes a lot more sense overall and was done fairly well. A character story, rather than an adventure.

You and me both.

ME1 had a great main plot. ME2 had great character plots (which I guess were its main plot really - the focus was on building a team to stop the Collectors, not on the Collectors themselves). What I've read of the script I really like - it seems we differ here - but I'd hate to leave a story unfinished.

Bioware have pulled it off twice already. I personally feel they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I'm pissed about Cerberus, Rachni and the endings but I'm pre-ordering as it is Mass Effect after all. Part of me hopes it fails so I can post 'told you so' and it will punish Bioware sufficiently and hopefully serve as a warning to other developers showing what happens when you start in one genre then end up in another genre, implementing a tacked on multiplayer, creating crappy reasons to make someone's moral alignment and dumbing down a game to cater the shooter fans. Action mode is no needed. Mass Effect is about the god damn story not blowing up aliens. But the other side what's Mass Effect to succeed as the first two games were awesome and made by Bioware.

Have you heard? No, Well Priestly and the developers have said countless times that the leaks do not represent the final product. The ME3 going to be released more than likely has changed from that "original'. I love it how some people get their underwear in a knot.

EDIT: I doubt the ME3 endings will please everyone. Unless your a hardcore ME fan like me.
