My question is though. Why read something to spoil yourself in the first place?

Because I think there's one thing to read about a story and another to experience it.

The script doesn't specify how the environments are or how some things leads to other.

There's also a pretty big gap at one point.

Thats kinda of what I was thinking. The script is outdated thats not a conspiracy to make people not believe the otherwise. The sciprt won't be able to show you visuals or other things or even how it plays.

I thought the collectors were a needles distraction in ME2 that did little to further the main plot of ME1. ME2 was great because of the characters, the side missions. The main mission felt gimped, but this is an old argument. All I can say is I hope things get back on track with ME3.

I imagine had people read a leaked script for ME2 prior to its completion and launch, they'd be screaming and whining about how horrible it was, and forecasting that the game would flop. But the game didn't flop - it was a great success and hundreds of thousands of players loved it. Just imagine the uproar that would have ensued had people stumbled upon the VS scene, Liara's 5 minute mission, or the final boss notes and the 'twist'. While those things did appear in the final game, they didn't destroy the franchise. Sure, some people weren't happy, but it didn't ruin the game.

The point is an unfinalized leaked script is not representative of the final product. It's not even the same medium. People will leap on any conceivable inconsistency, on anything they don't like, and claim that the game will suck.

I haven't read the leaked script, but I can't help but feel that all this pre-order cancellation and complaining is way overblown.

It technically does, because, you know, Reapers.

I read it and am as excited as ever.
Especially because a plotline I thought of is in it. :D

I 100% agree with you. Another thing if you read the script then shouldn't that make the experience lower than with out reading it. IMO you got nothing to blame for yourself. Like the old saying goes if you play with fire you get burned.

Super point, and nicely put. The script will not represent the final game (ten pounds please Priestly), but there are some aspects which I know will cause upset amongst some. I mean, no script will please everyone. That is an impossible task.

Just wondering. Want to know if the script is as bad as most people are suggesting.

Still, I ain't reading it myself, no matter what. Had enough willpower to keep it that way so far.

Are you serious?

Anyone who likes the Mass Effect series enough to post on a message board about it, isn't going to cancel their order.

The game will be awesome and I would hate to know there is an idiot out there who would do that.

What if I told you there were thousands? Would that break your heart?

The character interations, mainly with squad members is going to be great, the story looks like it will be a pile of steaming feces.

Except barely anybody who's cancelling their preorder thinks the game will flop. It'll sell, people will like it because it basically what the majority of players want. I'm just not in that majority, nor do most of the people who I tend to agree a lot with on these boards.

Well unless you are blind when watching the earth demo it is safe to say the script is where it needs to be because of those giant squid shaped things landing  and killing everything.

That's not what his point was, his point was that people would be b!tching about it which you fit that bill perfectly.

Yet you still post and discuss the game for reasons unknown.

I think the whole "Building a Reaper" plot was the reason of disappointment, We still don't know why they were building it since the Reapers were rather close.

I think some people are kidding themselves if ME3 is going to be 100% approval rating from everyone. It will more than lilkely be great, but rarely does any game become symbolic for perfection.

Alright smart ass, for all I know we might have to go on another recruitment crusade of some sort. Just seeing the Reapers in some demo doesn't prove squat.

That is a major spoiler sir.

Actually no its not. I'd discuss the plot but I don't want to spoil the game for others because I actually enjoy what I read -.-

I am surprised there are so many close-minded people here. You are reading a script in alpha state, and cancel your pre-order? Seriously?

Will it harm if I tell you the plot is ,in a way, like ME1?

Its pretty much impossible to avoid spoilers. Read at your own digression. It would have helped if the OP put in parenthesis no spoilers.
