Act II - Weird bug

 Started Act II, Sand is in group, talk to Nasher and begin investigation. Saved Lisbet from tombs, leave for Port Llast. I've talked to everyone, got as much info as I could. Got questss from Nay(?) and the Wendelhaven brothers (Map) and got clues from ranger in the bar about Duskwood.

Here's the weirdness: When i leave port Llast for Ember, I don't see any of the other points on the map. When I get to Ember, the won isn't destoyed, and people are still behind the locked doors. Final cap, i can't get back to Blacklake or Port Llast. The hotspot scripts don't work, though they execute succesfully.I've worked hard to get to this point, and now i'm ready to uninstall the game and just write EA/Bioware off for good. 

Please advise how i can fix my game.

According to the Gamebanshee walkthrough you should be able to get to the Glowstone Caverns.

it kinda sounds like the ActII global isn't set ...

//set the GlobalVar for Act II
rs ga_global_int("00_nAct", "2")

( probably not needed but doesn't hurt )

- what else has to be done depends on where your Save is. During the Trial state of your journey, map spots appear and disappear according to the plot; so I hesitate to say what should be there and what should not,

But looking further, these ought have been set upon entering Port Llast:


rs ka_hotspot_show("2000Neverwinter_A2")
rs ka_hotspot_show_range(2200, 2299)




ps. this isn't a bioware game, they're courteously hosting these forums, as the deservedly proud makers of NwN1. NwN2 was made by Obsidian (under stressed circumstances) ....

PPS. that you say Ember isn't destroyed raises *concerns - the pre & post destroyed towns are very* different areas .. so i offer this advice only on the grounds you know what you're doing, Fall :)

As kevL suggests, try setting the global variable. You also should not be able to get the Wendersnaven Map at this point. Talking with the two gnome sages should prompt a response along the lines of "You cannot understand what they are saying yet. Come back later."

IIRC the Wendersnaven quest is an Act III adventure.

I will try this.
I had the bard in my group when I talked to the sages, and he made sense of their craziness.

The Town of Ember not being wrecked when i visit after being accused of the massacre is just weird. I've even gone back a bit from older saves and still come to same result.

I will try the scripts tonight.

That worked all dandy, but after finishing Ember/Duskwood and Llast (I used the walkthrough) I can't get back to the Merchants Quarter. Also note, I gave the kid Bishop's dagger earlier on, but he's not under the well. It's just been a comedy of errors methinks.

rs ka_hotspot_show_range(2200, 2299) doesn't show Merchant, though when I went to docks I did get a cinematic of some guy that wants Qara dead, but can't get to Merchants still. Weird.
