The starting squadmates of Bioware games have a nasty tendency to get themselves killed during their mission. Trask from KotOR, Jenkins in ME, Wilson in ME2. (Though I admit, I don't know anything about Dragon Age)
Will this particular cycle(at least for ME) be broken?
Will Anderson DIE?

Hasn't it been pretty much confirmed that he leads the survivors from the opening scene?

I think he's hoping for death. I hope not, or at least doubt Anderson will die right out at the beginning because of his importance as a character. Him dying within the first few minutes of the game would be nothing but shock value. I do want them to keep the tradition though, so I hope there's another red shirt along for the ride during the opening of the game.RunAwayItzJack wrote...

Don't we already know who dies in the beginning? That child in the ducts.

It's true for Dragon Age as well - Origins, Awakening, and DA2.RunAwayItzJack wrote...

I'm guessing you didn't watch the leaked demo? Because if you did you'd know the answer...

I love Anderson so much. He must stay alive and have babies with his honey and live to a ripe old age. He must die of excessive HAPPINESS, a snuggly brown version of Santa Claus lying peacefully in bed with a smile on his face.
If they pulled that tired, stupid old "death of the mentor/parental figure driving the hero forward to their own adulthood" saw with all its bs poetic significance that's been done a million times before, I would nerdrage SO MUCH. *wanders off muttering swear words, disgusted at the mere thought*

The world has progressed considerably since the 60's, so yes, I think Anderson will survive. BW already avoided turning him into a stock character (magical ******), so I'm confident he's going to survive to the end.

Hope so. People are scared to death about squadmates dying for so Anderson is the perfect target for a scripted death. His no LI so no will cry and his not a permanent squadmate so no one will say "Bioware, why you kill my squadmate!".
