What the heck am I doing wrong?
I ignored her quests, didn't speak to her mostly and even cheated her Rivalry/Friendship-thing into neutral territory, I even play a mage myself to don't get tricked by the mechanics and she still won't die.

What else do I have to do?<_<

You don't have to spare him though. The one time I did this, I was a mage, I had Anders fully rivalled and Merrill in neutral.When Meridith forced me to picked side Merrill went with Orsino. Then I sent Anders away on the box.
Result, Sebastian, Anders and merrill left the team.
