Hmm, so the leaked script draft is still gonna be the final script. Not that I'm complaining - I liked most of the stuff in there.
I wonder how much time will it take for VS to recuperate? Two main missions, three? I hope not too long, I would want them back in my squad as soon as possible. And I still don't get it why it has to be only VS who gets pummeled, not Liara or Vega, for example. Although for the former I think the reason is BW's approved plot armor. Figures <_<.

I'd like to see elucidation:?

I can hardly remember that character, because it's been years since I last watched Lost.

Stopped caring when they just kept bringing in more and more stuff.

He was a selfish, "do it my way" type, who constantly fought with Jack the doctor for the Alpha male role in their pack of the lost.

Come launch well see how close the script really was and If Bioware's "Damage Control" was a ruse.I hope so,I want to watch this place burn.Allthough there was missing stuff and they did say they may change some stuff.

Don't forget the hilarious nicknames he seemed to come up with for everyone on the fly all the time.

Mars sounds cool. But there is NO WAY WHATSOEVER a Thresher could take out a Reaper. Zip. Zero. Nadda.

Why not?

If 3 people squad can take out unfinished, yet hostile and very dangerous Reaper on foot, then why 100-200 meters long Thresher Maw wouldn't be able to take out 200 meters big Reaper?

British video game magazine called GameMaster also had exlusive preview of Mass Effect 3 in their latest issue. Basically nothing more than in GameInformer (they only saw Earth & Mars part of singleplayer), but there is some new interesting things. Enjoy B):

"(...) James Vega. We're told his personality is based on Sawyer from the Lost."

"A new reputation system rewards those players who'd rather not conform solely to Paragon or Renegade Shepard. Now playing it straight - sympathising with some people and snapping at others - will also grant you some unique dialogue options. Importing old saves will mean you start with extra reputation as well..."

"Fed up of your dying when you're off gallivating around space? Well fret no longer: somewhere in the world is... [drumroll] an automated fish-feeder! It's like our prayers have been answered."

"(...) as you play ME3 you'll collect 'War Assets'. These are the people, places and armies you befriend along the way, and each one has a numerical value associated with. Asari Justicar Samara might be worth, say, +25, while a squad of soldiers is worth +65 to your asset total. Add them all up and you have your 'Total Military Strenght' value, which is then multiplied by your 'Readiness Rating'. We're told all the external experiences - the co-op multiplayer mode and the social games - feed into this Readiness Rating to let you win with fewer assets. Plug in the numbers and out pops your 'Effective Military Strenght' value - a total figure that seems to let you trigger the endgame once you hit a threshold. In a interesting twist, not every 'good' choice is going to bum your Assets."

Nice.

I wouldn't take the "based on character X" stuff too seriously. I mean, how much was even Renegade Shep ever really "Jack Bauer in space"? I think they sometimes just look to other characters as conceptual starting points more than anything.

Oh right.

Yeah, I really hope Vega isn't like that.

Last thing I need is a character questioning my every move.

It wasn't even near as powerful as a Destroyer. Though I agree about the Thresher Maw part.

Spoilers? What you talkin' 'bout, Willis? The leaked script was horribly outdated and inaccurate, how could anything from there possible consitute spoilers?

The Collector base might give someone a technical advantage, but the Reapers could give them ships, weapons and technology to do whatever they want.

And really. You're supporting potential mass genocides that way.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Personally I feel this to be a terrible idea as I hated Sawyer on LOST not to mention I hated the show after the third season :pinched: (should have quit earlier but the premise of Dharma kept me interested and when they dropped it, I quit.)

Though, hell, the news is pretty damn interesting but Kaidan gets injured? GAWD WHAT. I am duct taping him to my side, you hear me, Bioware?!

I left after second season and I liked Sawyer more than any other character, but I really don't see similarities with the exception of nicknames.

I doubt it was barely. When that Reaper gets up after the orbital bombardment you see no real visible damage afterwards. Likely can repair itself or its that damn tough.

Probably for a significant amount of missions, because Bioware never goes all out with their "you can have one or the other"-characters: Kaidan/Ashley happened fairly late in the game, and barely had any screentime in the sequel, the former is also true for Alistair/Secret Companion in DAO, and Carver/Bethany in DAII had one of them biting the dust in the intro, and the other getting forcibly removed from your party not too long afterwards.

Then again, I wouldn't expect a bunch of fascists like Cerberus to understand that. They have a rep of hilarious incompetence to keep up.

Really? I was getting an impression from what the devs said earlier that VS will be a permanent squadmate in ME3. Which will be untrue if he\\she will get knocked out for good early in the game. Not to mention the fan rage that will follow. From the leaked script I know that they can return after one particular facepalm worthy event on the Citadel. The question is when exactly? If it will be much later in the game I'm gonna add my voice of rage to the rest of the VS fans. VS seems to get so little love from BioWare, unlike some characters who are never wrong, can never get hurt or killed. Yes, you know who I'm talking about.
