Was there any impressions of the actual gameplay? Like how combat worked or the RPG elements?

No, no details on powers or weapons or anything like that. The Mars stuff was the most detail on combat he gave.  Mostly it was just stuff like "And then I fought some x".

After that part, we get introduced to the shield-carrying Guardians.  If you manage to shoot and kill one through the little vision-slit in the shield, you unlock the "Mail Slot" achievement/trophy.

I can't believe they went with Mail Slot when they could have gone with "Thanks fer standin' still, wanka" instead.

Nice find didy. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting insight, especially into Cerberus.

I can accept the leaked script as the final product. There are some plot points that are facepalm worthy, but overall its fine.

What I cannot stand is Bioware's dishonest PR spin.

yeah let's overhaul the ENTIRE GAME months before release because an early draft was released! let's throw the years worth of work away just because of htat we can still make march 6th yeah!

They didn't say they were changing everything but everything in the leaks won't be there. "wow one thing was which means they're liars." Drafts have things cut and things stay that's why it's called a draft.Image IPB

Who exactly said they were changing everything and 'overhauling the entire game?'

Yep, you said it, there are points that needs to be fixed. But those moments comes later in the game, so it's probably that they have changed some stuff that we haven't seen yet.
But it's probably that the script will be just a complete version of it without any kind of changes.

Bioware and the BW supporters here at least implied (if didn't outright say) that the leaked drafts were so old as to have very little resemblance to the actual script and thus any outrage over it was premature (to use the kindest version of the argument).

While BW might not have technically lied they were at the very least dishonest IMO.  It would seem the leaked script (facepalms and all) is actually very close to the final product (I didn't see any differences with what is revealed here).

Good info about the post-Sur'kesh mission. As expected, the Salarian's goverment doesn't really want to cure the genophage. They just see the Krogans as tools to use it.
I hope that after the Sur'kesh mission, we could have some dialogues with Wrex, Mordin and the Krogan female.

The only notable difference I see is that Kaidan can crash the shuttle instead of Vega but that's due to player choice.

I don't think that the game will differ that much from the leak, with the exception of some new things, since I think that the leak was missing some parts (though I'm not sure, since my information about the leak is indirect). But even if they were to change some parts from the leak, I doubt it'd have been the first missions and the Salarian-Krogan act. And Cerberus role isn't going to change.

That wasn't in the article.  I was speculating after someone asked a question the writer didn't address.

Spoilers for stuff generally do not bother me, so thanks for sharing the info. Looking forward to playing my Collectors Edition - regardless of how the finale hashes out.

No, no new squadmates.  Other than what I mentioned: Some screens on Tuchanka that look pretty much like the VGA trailer, only with Liara instead of Vega. One of Shep and Vega talking inside some building. Can't really tell where, but it could be Mars. Another shot on Earth with some Cannibals attacking.

Sounds like Casey needs a few month long nap after the game has been released.

Anyway, the rest of this info is pretty interesting, but I'm hoping that ME live journal gets some scans soon.

Can you tell me more about the dialogue with Kaidan's mistrust and James not being happy about abandoning earth?

Any screens of femShep? Or is it the same old marketing Shepard? It would be interesting to see in-game femShep, not that the digital artwork we've seen isn't fancy and all.
