Just a little quirk of mine. I've discovered over the years that when I put a period at the end of sentences like "fair enough" people sometimes think I'm being all serious and grim and no fun at all, but if I add an exclamation mark I come across as peppy and jovial and energetic. It didn't seem to work on you, though!

Actually, as no real info on how good the combat is to play it is a bit premature to say that it will be inferior to GoW 3.
And as for who will want to play action mode? People who would like a quick action romp. Maybe even people who would also play the MP portion, andbought the game for that reason.

Pretty please, the same engine and third person shooter in themself are pretty bad action according to me. I just think they aim for the wrong community here. Make a stand alone action and MP Mass Effect game. Do not corrupt our beloved trilogy with action bull****. -.-

Or we could just let people who want to enjoy an action game with solid writing have a (presumably, not a programmer, but I figure it can't be that hard to add automated choices) low-impact mode that lets them enjoy a smooth, uninterrupted experience.
I certainly have zero intention of using action mode (Ime my dialogue options), but there is absolutely nothing wrong with expanding the playerbase and trying to appeal to folks who might not normally pick up the title. Hell, you might pick up some people who discover that, in fact, they want to explore the dialogue options and end up enjoying "growing up" from Action mode.
In other words: stop being such an elitist.
Come back to me and say those words when we got a story mode in Halo 4.

Do you know how this can be solved? By not playing that mode. Yes, I consider it the noob option, but what's wrong with trying to appeal to a larger audience, while at the same time not taking anything away from your fanbase? Please tell me: what are you losing with the addition of Action Mode?

What Im losing? I am losing even more of the RPG that Bioware once was famous for. This is just another step towards not doing classic RPG anymore. Just liek Dragon Age 2 was a large step and CnC Generals is even more proof that they are leaving their old buyers behind. It is proof they aim more and more to please the action community. It is baffling that a RPG needs action mode...if you are not into story go play something else, seriouslty. Why even put the effort and resources down to have one guy script a action mode?

Uh... what?
While I certainly support better writing in all games, you do realize there is a marked difference between Bioware setting a default storyline via fixed choices and implementing a BG/DA/ME style story into a game, right? More to the point, there are a number of games where that sort of style (with dialogue wheels and the like) are actually really poor decisions.
Functionally, my suggestion doesn't hurt anything. Yours could utterly undermine an entire project.
See the difference?

I see your suggestion being "Give up a part of the story so we make the action gamers happy"
Normal Normal mode and the story mode should be sufficient enough Since people
A: Want to play the action part and do the dialog
B: Dont want to much action but gladly lot of dialog and story
So why the hell would they even add in a action mode? As a writer I would be pretty irritated. People should not buy Mass Effect 3 if they are not interested in the story. There is better games out there for that and it is a pity with Bioware puting down som uch work into the galaxy and the story to have players totally not giving a ****g damn about it and just aiming for braindead action in a game with such depth. It is baffling and sad!

It is simply creating a default set of choices for people who do not want to use the dialogue choices. There is NOTHING story related being removed for this mode.
This may mean that they aren't interested in the story. And if they like Mass Effect gameplay, fine. More power to them. Games SHOULD be fun to play. And who knows. You might find a few gamers who weren't interested in the story suddenly wanting to explore dialogue options, or someone who thought that game stories were always poor finding that, hey, they can be well written.
This may also mean that they are interested in the story and characters but don't want to RP. That is also legitimate. Some people might actually like to have the storyline simply unfold naturally as they play.
Hell, some people might just not like the way dialogue choices break up the flow of the narrative and would prefer a smoother experience!

I think your failing to see the point and make a huge assumption about who wants to plat what:
1. Action mode in no way hinders development or the telling of the story. It's basically the same as other modes but with higher diffculty (which is customizable) and auto pilot dialogue (which can be toggles on and off). Therefore its more of a issue of more scripting/programming. Scripting auto dialogue from my point of view is much easier than dialogue choices. They could even share the same scripts and be written as:
"IF auto dialogue toggled "Off," show dialogue choices"
"IF auto dialogue toggled "On," (and possibly another script command like get alignment/past actions) play x dialogue"
Also you pretend as if because Action Mode exists, Story Mode and RPG Mode magically become non existant and therefore no one should buy it interested in the story. Please explain?
2. Based off point 1, it's much easier to implement an action mode in a RPG with little programming/scripting needed, than it is to implement a story mode in Halo 4 which would take added writers, a lot more programming and a lot more scripting. So it's unrealistic to expect Halo 4 to have RPG elements all of a sudden, when an RPG which already has a combat system in place can easily implement a more action themed mode.
Edit (Forgot 3):
3. Your assumption about who would and wouldn't like Action Mode is a bit too simple. Ever stop to think that people playing multiple playthroughs may actually like it?

I would guess that that stuff about Salarians or Krogan-choice is gonna end good either way. The Salarians is probably gonna need Shepard's help later in the plot, and even if you chose the Krogans on Tuchanka, the Salarians will get assisted by Shep and you have both alliances.
Typical Mass Effect imo.
"Typical Mass Effect"? Shepard has never had to make these kinds of allegiances before. It's more in line with Dragon Age than Mass Effect.
