Well, i'm guessing that since Mars is the first mission after Earth, you have to bring Vega along because your squad is formed only out of Vega and the VS.

Guess it's going to work like Eden Prime -> Citadel. You can't do anything against it - after leaving Earth you're going to do the Mars mission. You'll pick up Liara here afaik, she's not part of your squad from the beginning. That means you're going in with VS and Vega.

My money is on "Earth + Mars mission" for the demo by the way. Who thinks the same?

Depends really. Earth + Mars could be like Normandy + Aweakening Prologue in ME2 demo (so Sur'Kesh or Tuchanka would be like Mordin/Jack recruitement missions) but there will also be MP component in the demo this time so SP part may be smaller.

I think the demo will be about Earth and Sur'kesh. They was both showed by Bioware in the past months, so in that way they're not going to spoil other missions.

If BW gives us the option to import any savegame from ME2, I'm sure they simply give us the first two missions plus intro. At first I thought they're going to give us Earth only (huge cliffhanger) but Mars works fine too: end of mission means a horribly wounded VS, Cerberus turns out to be another enemy and Liara is back. Should be enough for a demo.

I'm not a huge fan of randomly picked missions right from the middle of the plot.

Me neither but at the same time, demos need to present all/most aspects of the game. Will weapon/armor customization be already available by Mars? Somehow I don't think so. So I dunno :/

It would really suck if Mordin sacrificed himself to distribute a fake cure. Only the most renegade of renegades will be able to do that (like killing Wrex).

I agree, but a lot of people already know about Sur'kesh, why they a lot of them don't know that  much about Mars.
Plus, Bioware already did that in DA2, in order to give the player a PC with more points to use.
And I doubt they're going to give use the possibility to import ME2's savegame.

Killing Wrex wasn't that much Renegade, since he could be a threat. If you didn't do his side quest and you didn't invest much in the Charm or Intimidate, he'll die regardless you are Paragon and Renegade.

Again, Shepard could condier him a threat, and for good reason. He was seriously considering to attack you.
I never killed him because it's my favourite character in the IP, but I could see the reason for choose to kill him

Well, it's a research station. I don't think they will sell weapon modifications and armor pieces there.
