I played through that 3 times, actually. The storyline's pretty weak, but I enjoyed the combat to an extent, it was certainly different.Too Human
Much like the above, I didn't care that much for the storyline, but the Combat/TES-y Exploration and a good helping of the quests were pretty awesome. I'd never played the original two at that point, so the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. System, Perks, etc. felt fresh to me.Fallout 3

Dunno if it's been mentioned but I'm honestly too lazy to scroll through.
But Fallout 3.
Not saying that it's better than the others, but I honestly didn't have a problem with it.
Sue me.
But I love them both.
I never played the previous Fallout games, and have no plans to, so they're left out of my equation.

Actually, it is - There's never any clear indication in the game as to whether Thornton is out of enemy sight or not. The game doesn't even offer you a chance, especially not on the harder difficulty. The Thief games had the right idea, and always provided a sign of whether or not the player is currently visible and offers a brief delay between being spotted and alert being sounded. The older Metal Gear & Splinter Cell games nailed it too, but has since dumbed it down in exchange of action gameplay. Although, despite Alpha Protocols approach to stealth being as about as subtle as a sperm whale in an airplane luggage compartment, it is still pretty great I'd say.EntropicAngel wrote...

Well, since apparently people dislike Obsidian games, I'll say that I've liked their games. KotOR II and Alpha Protocol (which is like the one decent non-Splinter Cell present-day spy/stealth game).
I also liked what little I played of TOR.
Because the stealth gameplay isn't broken.

Lol you would stick Metal Gear Solid's descent to action in there.TheChris92 wrote...

Every time I talk to someone about them, they bring up how much better the previous games in the series were. Though I don't disagree, I still think these two games were awesome while others think they were garbage.

Here are a few, nonetheless:
1) Too Human - I die about every few minutes when I play this game. I am terrible at it, but the game makes me smile. I have no idea why. XD Played through it two and half times; only other shooting game I have completed outside of the ME trilogy (and Ratchet and Clank....do they count as shooters as well as platformers??)
2) Munch's Oddysee - I am just about as bad at platformers as I am shooters, but with the save feature on this game, I was a platforming GOD! lol!! Who doesn't love possessing wolf-man looking 'adds', and making them 'splode. *evil grin*
3) Fable 2 - I suspect that the first Fable is more fawned over (meh...I could be wrong. It happens.), but I had the most fun with the second game. Reason?? No sneaking! (if I was so inclined). Yet another thing I am bad at (the list keeps growing....hmm). I freak out, and nearly always get caught. So not having to do it to finish quests, was great. That, and I thought my She-man dressed as the "Admiral", looked fantastic.
4) Theme Park Roller Coaster (PS2) - This one probably does count toward a game no one but me liked. It had a silly game structure, equally silly music, and I loved it. The dual shock when "riding" one of your creations cracked me up. I think I regressed a bit much, when I played that game. You should have seen the looks, my husband gave me. >.<
4) Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - The one genre I am not terrible at: Hack'n'slash. When this game came out, it was around the time I had switched to console gaming. So yep....I liked it.

I liked those, except for the ending to 13-2 was dumb as hell. FF13 got me through some rough times though.

Dead Space 1. I know it gets a lot of hate from everyone for being all jumpscares and no atmosphere, and for being an action game and not a true survival horror game, but everyone is wrong. Dead Space 1 totally is scary, and it exceeded Resident Evil 4 as both an action title and a survival horror title.
Dead Space 2 on the other hand, it was good as an action title but as a horror title it was just trash. Absolutely no pacing to it.
No atmosphere?
Who the hell said that?!
Then you're provably wrong, becasue DS1 WAS scary.
That's kind of subjective. I know people who are quite 'meh' with Amnesia, though they totally **** themselves with Resident Evil xD

Otherwise... people seem to be very into RPGs and not so into FPSs on this forum (understandably), but I must freely confess that I was a FPS gamer before discovering RPGs, so that's my other confession!
