Depends on the Halo game for me, I seem to be the only one who likes ODST, Wars, and Reach

Damn that's an old post of mine.

I dunno. There's a following of Halo refugees from the Bungie forums. But Gears...Never found anyone else that likes Gears.

I mean, you can just look at their reception at large and realize your opinion is more a part of the "everyone else" instead of the minority. But if you're talking about this place then yeah, you might be in the minority.

Oblivion.

But that's only here really. But still, I think it's the least popular of the ES games.

Because nobody wants to remember Daggerfall xD but that game is beautiful in its own special way.

Up until the ending, I thought it was the best game in the series.

On the other hand I also think that ME1 is highly overrated on the BSN. It is one of my favorite games of all time, but I think it pales in comparison to the two sequels. The only area where ME1 was better than ME3 in my opinion, was in the finale.

The comparison of mass effect and the sequels usually touches upon the action game-----> rpg spectrum. Where in this case mass effect 2 is a cover shooter. Then it gets to a point where someone asks THAT question. What is an rpg? I call this Fast Jimmy's law cause he was usually involved in these arguments.

Fast jimmy's law states, the length of an argument about rpg mechanics is directly proportional to the probability of someone asking what an rpg is. At this point the argument ceases to exists and we are left with more circle jerks than the weird side of pornhub

Persona 1. It had some fun battles (even with the horrible strategic placement) and a memorable story line in its own right.

I also prefer Fable 2 over 1 but that might step into the realm of nostalgia.

I do...

I think you mean Arena.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. It wasn't what I was expecting as a fan, but I still liked it.

MGS2.

ME3. It's my least favorite of the 3, but I still found it to be a satisfying game. The combat is enhanced and a bit more varied, biggest budget of the 3, and the effects of the previous game are greater in size than the last(though focused mainly on character death and less on some of the more important decisions).

I Wanna Be The Guy: The Game: The Movie. People who complain about unfair deaths should try this game. It's a level of unfair to the point that I laugh more at the deaths than get annoyed.

Too Human

Yeah. I played through the game several times. The story is laughably bad, but I was able to dig into the combat. Commandos in particular had it pretty good. Liked the looting system, fed into the same addictive nature that Diablo and Borderlands employ.

L.A. Noire(NSFW)

Dark Souls, but a game with NES-level difficulty is going to be a barrier for a gaming audience one way or another. Why I like it, Ripped from the Annals of another thread.

I agree that ME1 is definitely overrated on this site. Much like KOTOR before it (which I feel is similarly given more praise than I think it deserves) it has rather tedious gameplay and writing that, while competent, is ultimately rather unremarkable.

I don't agree with ME3 being far better, though; it had its own rather large set of issues.

ME1 is the best written of the three by far, especially where main plot was concerned.

I'd agree with this in regard to Mass Effect 1. What Mass Effect has in a main plot, it fails to follow through with in terms of gameplay, exploration, and characters, all of which I found to be lackluster.

And even in regard to its main storyline, I only really thought Noveria (excluding Benezia), Virmire, and the finale really stood out. It still had a few face-palm moments.

Sadly, yes. It seems like every comment I've seen on videos of it is people bitching about the graphics or how it's too hard and dumbshit like that. A lot of Fallout 3 fanboys seem to hate it too. Or at least, that's what I've seen.

Dragon Age II.

Other than that;

- Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom. (I didn't like what it changed in the series, and I wouldn't say it was a good game, but I liked its simplicity.)

- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (The environment wasn't the most varied, but the cities felt unique and charming, and the questlines were interesting. A step down from Morrowind, but a step above Skyrim.)

"An RPG"

My face when the proceeding word doesn't start with a vowel

This is a misconception. "An RPG" is grammatically correct - you use "an" when the following word begins with a vowel sound, not an actual vowel.

To tie in to what Kefka said:

I just got back into WoW this year (after not playing since Burning Crusade's release, so it was a big adjustment to what I was used to), so both Cata and MoP have had their time to be tuned and such since release. That being said, I really enjoyed both as far as levelling areas are mostly concerned:

Cata especially once you hit the actual 80-85 levelling zones. A lot of people really dislike Vash'jir for example, but I personally loved it. The expac has some of what I currently consider my favorite dungeons (Vortex Pinnacle, Well of Eternity and Hour of Twilight all included). That being said, the Dragon Aspects and Old Gods are pretty much my favorite parts of Warcraft lore, so maybe I'm biased. :P

MoP is a bit more of a mixed bag for me. Once again with levelling content, the last stretch to 90 was a bit blargh (mostly cause it deals with the mantids and uggggggh, no like) but the story content dealing with the Sha and Shado-Pan were the parts I rather enjoyed.

I suppose this is the perfect time to state this kind of stuff too, with Warlords of Draenor just around the corner.
