I hang in the first level of Grim Fandago ... didn't continue it.

Shadow of the Empire was epic, I played it on my PC few years ago.

I remember Shadows of the Empire well. It was fpr N64 too.

Good call on Victoria 1.
And the NWN 2 main game had a lot of things going for it.

I think Age of Empires was too mainstream to be "unappreciated."

My contribution to this list would be Total Annihilation. It was the best RTS I ever played.

Well, Dragon Age 2 is one of them. :P

I also loved the Fatal Frame series. I'm not sure about everyone on here, but in real life I know a lot of people who hated that game. I also liked Blood Rayne and Dracula for the sega CD! XD Don't judge me! Punching bats in the face is one of my favourite pastimes!

And, based on UrkOfGreyhawk's list, I loved Psychonauts, Parasite Eve 2, Indigo Prophecy, and Shadow of the Colossus!

I played Victoria 1 for 4 years. The Idea of upgrading industry, technology, army, navy, diplomacy and political parties is executed well in this game. The downside was few bad map drawings (like Asia) and sh*tty revolts.

NWN 2 is very fascinating, better than Dragon Age franchise ...

Age of Empires 1 had a nice music (lowut) and I like the design of units.

Call of Duty MW (Yup. All of'em. Every day.)
Bioshock 2 and Minerva's Den (Don't listen to the hype. It's fantastic)
Dead Space 2
Dragon Age 2 (Yup. Good game. Could have been great though)

Duke Nukem Forever:
A few giggles, solid shooter with some fun sections here and there; would've preferred a tps but what can you do? Not sure what everybody else was expecting that they were so disappointed, but even though it was far from the best game of the year I enjoyed it.

The ego boost was a clever idea. Some of the bosses looked pretty damned spectacular. As a rental, it wasn't bad.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - I know a lot people didn't like this particular chapter in the MGS, because of Raiden and something else I guess, but to me it is among the best in the series right next to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Thought I would write down a few more.

Final Fantasy XIII - Among the best I've played of them all
Knights of the Old Republic 2 - I thought this game was exceptionally great, it's such a shame that a lot of the content had to be cut. It's still an awesome overall
Dragon Age 2 - I like the game a lot. It included a lot of things I like about BioWare, however, it could have been a lot better. Conclusion: It was a great experience, it could have been better, but it was still very much fun to play.
Jade Empire & L.A. Noire - I didn't know these two titles are hated by many people, so I guess they are on my list too.

Super Mario Bros. 2, it seems to be one of the lesser loved Mario Games.
Wind Waker. I loved sailing on the ocean blue. Even if the ocean was shaded with cels.
Alpha Protocol...sort of. I enjoyed it more than most, though that story needed serious work.
Mirror's Edge. Besides the lackluster story, it was an incredibly unique game.
RAGE, besides the ending.

Alpha Protocol-Very underrated game. Obsidian took Fallout's choice and consequence system and added it to a cinematic experience. The only thing wrong with this game is the bugs, but I just changed up a few .ini files or something (kind of forgot what I did; I followed some guide) and my game played fine (PC). I'm totally going to purchase it for my PS3 someday.

Final Fantasy XII - Not vintage FF, but it isn't trying to be. Although the story could have been more fleshed out, they experimented in all the right ways the J-RPG genre needed to and I loved it. Shame too many people hated it for what it wasn't.

NWN (Official Campaign) - It was the first western RPG I properly played and I loved it. Takes a while to get going but I liked the story at the time.

The Summoner - I don't think it was particularly disliked, just ignored. A fairly ugly game, even by early PS2 standards, but a flawed gem for personally.

Magic Carpet - One of the first games I played. Enjoyable and very unique.

I never understood people hating Bioshock 2. It was vastly improved as far as storyline, characters and interaction was concerned plus the combat system is improved on i think most people hated that it was much less scary and refused to see it's good side because they cut down on jumpy bits and tension.

The first game had that but the storyline which started off well just went off the rails and the last part was just cheesy and made no sense. At least Bioshock 2 had a proper begining middle and end that showed characters growing and changing in a way that didn't contradict the storyline.

... There are people who dislike Syberia and Divine Divinity?!? D8 What is wrong with these people?

And I will go ahead and say it: Despite its flaws and not being a good sequel.... I like Dragon Age II. I didn't think it was that terrible of a game, but I know and admit to it not being great either. It was just an OK game but I still had fun playing it.

Apparently genuinely liking Skyrim is now the minority if the other thread is any indication.

Yeah... I suppose the same can be said for Psychonauts. But there are a LOT of people who haven't played them. Both games were completely underappreciated in their day.

Playing Psychonauts now for the first time and loving it.  Very unique setting and its just charming.

Are the Dark Alliance games hated outside PC Baldur's Gate fans? In my experience they are well received save for the cliffhanger endings. Anecdotal evidence though. I have fond memories of blasting through waves of monsters to cheesy B-movie music with the Martyr. It was as if the soundtrack was inspired by Night of the Living Dead. Hunter was a great multiplayer game.
