Some games mentioned are loved by the masses. How does everyone dislike Jade Empire? Some people here swear it is BioWare's greatest achievement xD
Anyway...here it goes.
NWN1 OC (no where near as bad as people make it out to be.)
NWN2 OC (again, same as above.)DA2
Alpha ProtocolRisen
Risen 2
Oblivion (though there are MANY fans, a lot of people from Morrowind's base swear it was birthed from satan's semen.)
Now, I agree with you.

Most of all, Dungeon Siege III. I loved that game. Played it to death. According to Steam I clocked in over a hundred hours. To date I've only met one person outside Obsidian's forums that enjoyed it, and that was my co-op partner for two runs.

I need to add KOTOR 2 to that list.
I have no ****ing idea why people would hate that game. As much as I love the first, KOTOR 2 builds ontop of that awesome foundation and does amazing things with the universe.

Yah, this.
Maybe the same issue about ME . The Endings
Or the numerous bugs and rushed game production and cut dialogues.
But install TSLRCM and it's all fixed. Most of.

Kotor 2 (curse you LucasArt!)
Dragon Age 2 (enjoy it but yeah cannot overlook its faults)
Fallout New Vegas (x10 better than Fallout 3)
And yeah Osbidian they have great writers but they have bad luck when it comes to develop.

Mass Effect3 and DA ][.
And, "everyone" does not dislike Kotor 2. Or Fallout NV. In fact, it's the opposite: Obsidian has Valve-esque fanboyism.

I also disagree on Obsidian. Valve is a company way more folks love than hate for their few past hits, Steam, or both. Sure, there are naysayers, but they aren't even as present as the current BioWare hating crowd. Obsidian has never come anywhere near Valve's popularity. They also have a reputation now for releasing incomplete and/or buggy games. The whole Obsidian was screwed over by their publishers when developing X is a point I see brought up in virtually every conversation involving them. Most folks don't pay attention to behind the scenes rumors or news. They go by their own personal gaming experiences; which in the case of Obsidian's games turn out badly due to bugs.

Sure, it was repetitive, and had a lot of bugs - but I thought it was a beautiful, ambitious game despite it's faults that was the first one that really felt 'next gen' to me. And the setting of the Crusades fit the whole idea of the series better than any other time period.

I agree. Medieval middle east atmosphere... Damscus, Jerusalem, the templars and the Arabs.

Only among a segment of the PC RPG crowd. Ask most people who played through both games, and the overwhelming majority will say KotOR was far superior. KotOR2 achieved a sort of cult status as years went on, but it was never universally appealing.

This isn't "which one was better" but rather "games everyone dislikes." It's generally accepted that while their (Obsidian) games are buggy, the writing quality is top-notch. At least I've never seen someone say the writing in an Obsidian game was "bad," or even mediocre.
Also, I'm not really sure how the two bolded statements fit together. If it's brought up every time Obsidian is mentioned, then how can you say "most folks" don't know it?

Keep in mind KotOR saw the height of its popularity on a console as well, not PC. More people experienced KotOR2 on Xbox, and never looked back. They didn't stick around to play a modded version, or heard rumors about LucasArts pushing Obsidian to release it early.
As for most folks not knowing, try checking out a mainstream site sometime when Obsidian comes up. They get some props on sites like this, or any site where people who are generally considered hardcore CRPG players gather--such as RPG Codex. Elsewhere? Hell no. People who even recognize Obsidian's existence tend to associate them with broken software--even among PC only gamers.

Oww yeah, the fanbase war between oldschool Fallout and the new fans coming with Fallout 3 was downright nuclear if you pardon my pun.
But you know what they say: War, war never changes.
