It's not just me. Game Journalist SteveGarbage raises the question about whether or not we are going to see anything further in terms of DA2 DLC and I am tempted to go with his second scenario in which Bioware has indeed decided to pull the plug on the project.

I hope they prove us wrong.

There is also the third option: DAO DLC sucked and Bioware has decided to take its time to make sure the DA2 DLC is of high quality, especially after the criticism of the base game.

But really, how many threads do we need on this subject? Either we will get more DLC or we won't. Either way, Bioware will let us know when they decide to.

Bioware are uncharacteristically quiet about DA2 DLC. Why would they not drop even a hint about it especially if they are already working on something?
But if they're not, but instead is waiting for an opportune moment to let us know DA2 is a done deal then their silence would make sense.

Anyway, I don't really care how many threads are discussing this. I purposefully created a new thread for people to talk about Steve's article. And I am sure this is going to be the first of many articles like this to come...something is brewing and it smells rotten!

My personal idea - just a hunch, based on no real clues - is that we'll see one last "major" (not counting item packs) DA2 DLC, and that DA3 will be officially announced soon (if I had to guess a release date I'd say Q1 2013).

DA2 wasn't so successful to grant lots of DLCs, but those which were released were apparently well received (haven't played them yet), so at least a last one is plausible.

Two things:

1) Skyrim is still relatively fresh, and the RPG market is not so big. At least some of the people who loved or just liked DA2 will still playing the hell out of Skyrim.

2) The Dragon Age franchise does not consist only of the video games. Sure, that's the basis for the franchise, but it's expanded way beyond that. We just had a new book come out and a comic book is set to be released in a month. After that, there's the anime. They have to do things like press interviews and promotions for when these things come out. That takes away resources from the development of DLCs. Also, they do not want to "overwhelm" people with a glut of Dragon Age-related stuff.

3) We're set to have ME3 drop in a couple of months. There's considerable overlap between the ME and DA fandoms. Any DLC dropped in the next couple of months will be in competition with ME3. That will not help the sales of any DA2 DLC.

Give it time. They've said more content will be coming for DA2. Just be patient.

Ah yes, Bioware's brilliant plan is to just stop talking about it and hope everyone forgets. Because we all know that the BSN has a history of just letting things go. Bioware's marketing has proven itself to be pretty terrible, I'll admit, but I don't think they are outright stupid.

Is the DLC for DA2 done? Possibly. Its hard to say with no concrete sales figures to gauge how successful Legacy and MotA have been. Another DLC just might not be worth the effort. However, if they were going to call it quits, I think they would tell us that. I feel it is much more likely that they are waiting to announce the next DLC fairly close to its release date. Possibly sometime around the release of the anime if it has a tie-in or perhaps after the ME3 demo is released to avoid having two big announcements close to each other.

I agree with everything that's1evildude said, they have so much non-game related content coming out in the Dragon Age universe, they want to keep it from being buried in the announcement of DLC or an expansion. And with The Old Republic just coming out and Mass Effect 3 dropping in March, Bioware has a LOT of attention already drawn to its first quarter of 2012.

Everyone needs to just chill the heck out. They are just trying to not compete with themselves. If no other DLC for DA2 comes, the world will not end.

Also, I think a DA3 release date of 1Q 2013 is WAAAAAAY too ambitious, especially since they haven't formally announced a lead on it yet.

For God's Sakes!

Why can't you people be patient and stop spreading stuff.

I will believe its over when they announce it. Until then how about thinking logically?

They are NOT going to release everything at once.

I know the original plan was for 3 major DLC additions. We have 2, so people assumed there would be at least 1 more. But it is a definite possibility that Bioware decided to cut their losses on DA2 and shifted full focus to DA3.

Sorry, we have little to say at
this point. I can say that there will not be any new DLC before next
year at the earliest, but can't say anything beyond that.

If you're so concerned. Go follow them on Twitter and ask them. Geez!

Why would they tell some random person on twitter about new DLC before anouncing it publicly? Or even hinting at its existence?

They answer alot of questions on Twitter. They may not say anything about DLC but they do talk to fans.
