I don't see where from the neogaf summary that joystiq draws that conclusion, and I don't recall them saying such a thing in the various media events neogaf was summarizing either.
They said Morrigan and Flemeth are integral to the series, sure, but I don't recall any explicit "they will be in DA2 DLC."
Yeah, this. It could've been from other future projects, rather than any DLC.
Remeber that Mike's team 'broke away' in mid-2011 to start work on DA3, while another team continued to work on DA2 DLC. If anything, that says more about DA3.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with Casey but I kinda like Mike. Considering what he got from the BSN and the internet for DA2 he's pretty positive and still hangs around the BSN from time to time. I mean considering the time he was given for DA2 he did a hell of a job.
I wouldn't say that Mike Laidlaw did a great job, cause I'm pretty sure I recall reading elsewhere that there was speculation that the lady dwarves got the short end of the stick due to the team's decision to redraw/revisualize the non-human races for DA2. Of course, that should in no way be interpreted that Bioware rushed to put DA2 out before it was ready... <_<

I doubt we are getting more DLC. I have a feeling that the story with Hawke is done and the story of our Warden is done as well. I just think with how these characters ended rather corny.
Even though they've said the opposite?

This.
Things change. They probably saw DA2 was not redeemable with Bioware's VERY LIMITED resources in which case working on DA3 makes more sense.

Not bashing but can anyone really deny it now?! How many DLCs did DAO have in 1 year or so(minus nonsensical ones). Like 6? Hell, even an entire expansion. DA2........ 2. For this to be such a "success" it sure isn't getting the support of one. They have already moved on to DA3. SMH

And considering Dragon Age: Origins got it's first major DLCs after the release of Mass Effect 2...I say if we see no mention of it by the end of March, then yes, there is no DLC.

I wasn't talking about DA2 DLC I was directing it towards the story of these protagonists.
And what's up with this 'VERY LIMITED' BioWare? Since when have they become a freaking indie developer?

You got that right Dubya75, What concerns me the most, is that they're not making any announcements at all. Not even "there are going to be more DA2 dlcs, just wait". Now the attention to the franchise is maintained with the novel, comic and anime, but not the actual DA2 game. This can't be good.
The novel, comic and anime seems like desperate attempts to save the franchise.
I'm not interested in any of those as substitutes for an actual game.
That Bioware would even consider this is hilarious!

I could be completely wrong here, but a large segment of Bioware's employees move from project to project as needed (for animation, programming, cutscenes, art, sound design, music, etc), and aren't necessarily tied down to one of the franchises. Obviously Edmonton handles most of DA and ME, so they maybe wouldn't be doing much for SWTOR.
The writers obviously stay in their own universe, and I think the design team and project leads would be working pretty much constantly on DA, but I'm not sure they have enough employees to concentrate full-time on ME3 and DA3.
Given that ME3 was in crunch-mode for, say, December and January, perhaps it absorbed a lot of the work.
^ Again, I'm only going by what I heard in other dev comments, and it's quite likely I misunderstood how it works. But it would explain why work can't ramp up so much for DA3 when they've just finished ramping up for ME3.

Perhaps EA doesn't want two of it's own titles competing against one another.

I think BioWare is consumed right now for the upcoming ME3 Release and SWTOR... and as Deadmac mentioned, DAII is going to celebrate its 1st birthday this march, so perhaps we're gonna see at least one more DLC, I personally hope for a bridge what happened after Hawke left Kirkwall and a leading into DAIII...
We sort of got that in Asunder. If a new DLC does arrive, it'll probably deal with Hawke losing their companions, and perhaps theor own dissapearance.

Fair enough, but it gets to me when people always talk about resources and budget cuts etc... I know BioWare isn Blizzard in financial terms but they aren't some poor European indie developer also. Hell some indie devs make great games without the funds BioWare has.

Now I'm somewhere in between. At GDC, (March 5th - 9th) many developers have things to announce. EA promised a "Huge Event" With Lots Of Announcements. It is possible we'll get an announcement there, even a DA:3 teaser.
If we've heard nothing say, after a month of the release of Mass Effect 3, I'd say it is almost certain we'll see no more DLC for DA:2. But don't give up hope just yet.

like i said, If they don't announce anything more about DA2 DLC by the time ME3 comes out or by the end of March, then they might truly be done with it.
Did you read my post. It was posted on Twitter that they would try to have some noews soon.
Why cant you people wait???
And if they were truly done with DLC...they would have closed this thread long ago.
Think about it.

Doesn't mean it's true... Cause they're all talk and no promises for the last few months after MOTA DLC was out. Once you include the fact that we have not seen a dlc announcement, the future of "Dragon Age II" becomes a little more dimmer. Around the start of the new year, we began to get a slight influx in "Dragon Age III" news. <_<
I remember the pre-release hype for Dragon Age II was almost universally negative. Mass Effect 3 is already being showered with praise and I can't help but feel bad for the people who worked so hard on Dragon Age II. Already the DA2 game isn't held in high esteem, even amongst Bioware fans so imagine how few people will care about it post Mass Effect 3, especially if Mass Effect 3 turns out to be a huge critical success.
