Sorry, we have little to say at
this point. I can say that there will not be any new DLC before next
year at the earliest, but can't say anything beyond that.

The quote is on the third page, fourth response.

He didn't say there will be new DLC this year either though. :(

They have alot on their plate.  There was an article that someone posted saying some announcments were coming this year.

See thats the thing. These same people whining will be the first ones complaining if they don't find it satisfying.

Don't forget they have been on holidays for some time now, that BioWare has been focused on the SW:ToR launch, that ME3 is just around the corner and everyone is working hard on that and they probably don't want to announce anything at the moment.

Also, Chris Priestly confirmed that the DA team isn't even back to work until the 9th, they literally got back to the office today, give it a couple of weeks and I suspect we will hear something.

There was a long wait between DA2 and the first Story DLC, and then another long wait between that and the second story DLC. Hopefully ALL of Bioware are learning the metrics or profits or whatever it takes to convince them that we want more substantial story-driven content. Both story DLCs for DA2 received a lot of positive feedback, and I am hoping that has inspired Bioware to focus specifically on that kind of content.

But the supposed long wait between DA2 and Legacy was because they had to re-evaluate everything they did in DA2 due to the largely ****** poor reception the game received. Hell, at this point after DAO had been released (~10 months), we had not only seen all the DLC and an expack, but they had already announced the sequel. Even in ME2's post release life cycle, at 10 months post launch they had already released every DLC but Invasion, which wasn't even worked on by Edmonton but Montreal instead.

Whether or not the 2 DLC's thus far have been received positively or not only is going to matter so much when we're almost a whole year from DA2's launch with a game that had a tepid response. With any DLC/post release content, you're only appealing to the people who own the base game and with something like DA2 where a significant number of people didn't enjoy the base game and even if they did like it, its almost one year post launch, the number of possible people out to buy PRC is going to be a fraction of a fraction. At some point, its likely just not worth it.

At most I could see them releasing one last DLC for DA2, especially considering they're releasing the DA anime next month. Or maybe they tease something DA related in ME3. But I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they're done with DA2 either. Thats my hope personally- just move on to something better, hopefully.

*quietly boggles at that*

From a pure "make money" point of view, I guess it is totally possible the DLC isn't worth it.  However, we know they use DLC to test how ideas and concepts would be received and how they would play...  That alone could make DLCs good investments on BioWare's part.

Someone (Laidlaw, I *think*) talked about what is and what isn't possible without an executable change.  Personally, I wouldn't mind if they merge the last two DLC into an xpack along with a new exe that rolled out some of the changes they're looking to make in DA3.  I'm all for less being bored gearing my companions, but I am interested in how the proposed "unique look, variable gear" is going to play.

I'd like to see more DLC and an xpack, of course, but I also wouldn't mind a Dragon Age 2.5...

In addition to the opportunity to test out new ideas that DLC presents, there's another reason for BioWare to make at least one more DLC: good will.

There are a number of people who didn't like the main campaign in DA2 who thought that Legacy and Mark of the Assassin were a marked improvement. While it may not matter to most people who disliked the game, another good DLC may win over some more fans and potential buyers for Dragon Age 3.

Morever, there are people like me who loved DA2 and would be seriously disappointed if Hawke doesn't get some more content before DA3 is released. (Unless BioWare have had a major change of heart and decided to carry on with Hawke as a protagonist, and for various reasons I doubt that.)

You completely miss the point. I did NOT say they did that.   <_<

Then why tell someone to use twitter for a purpose that's unprecidented and unlikely?

Never mind!  You are missing the point again. You obviously can't grasp what an example is.  A person can always make a thread...anything. Sure they will get a NO, or a "Sorry I'm not allowed to reveal anything" answer.

Don't bother replying to this.

I think people just want some teaser. Something to discuss about, something to speculate on...but hell we are so good at that I think they are scared to do so xD

I bet some guy can predict the entire plot of DA6 by just one pixel :o

We all know as soon as a new DLC does come out (not saying it definitely will, only that its a possibility) everyone will be complaining that they are trying to squeeze every drop of money out of us and blah blah blah anyway, so let's just relax and let it happen when it happens. :)
Personally I would like another, as they've done a decent job on those we've seen so far, but if it doesn't happen, then so what?

I don't anticipate any sort of release until at least late March, after the ME3 launch. Bioware doesn't want to compete against itself...

This.  I check the site once every weekend and after this long of a wait holiday or not it's getting pretty damn annoying just seeing announcements for spotlights and what not.  Based on their previous release dates for DLC, the time between DAO and DA2 coming out after it, even IF they were taking their time to make the DLC this is rediculous imo.

I will believe its over when they announce it. Until then how about thinking logically?

They are NOT going to release everything at once.

Indeed. With previous DLC they dropped hints in form of concept art and such even before the DLC is formally announced.
Since the release of MotA, we had NOTHING! Other Dragon Age stuff yes, but nothing game-related. It feels like they are trying to passify us with novels, animes, cosplay, fan art....everything but what we're really after.

I would like it if they made some more DLC for DA 2 but if they want to use this time to do work on Dragon Age 3 instead I'm okay with that too, I hope they put more development time into DA 3 than they did into DA 2 though.

Give it time. They've said more content will be coming for DA2. Just be patient.

To be honest, that means exactly nothing.  They also promised 2 years of DA:O dlc.  But they abruptly  stopped halfway through that plan, too.

This sorta stuff happens all the time with all companies.  Official plans change, especially when  they're completely dictated by sales figures, which can be quite  tricky  to base longterm plans on.  Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath  for anything as  significant as another story-based DLC for DA2.  I do however, see a good chance for an "Ultimate Edition" package in a couple of months, which will combine the main game and all the DLCs that they've already put out.

I'd rather they take their time and produce something really good and bigger than Legacy/MOTA. And if they've pulled the plug, oh well, there are plenty of other great series still going strong.

Point. Missing it.

Nobody minds if they're taking six months/a year/the next millenium to work on something so that it comes out well. What we mind is the complete silence on whether or not they are working on something at all.,

If there's no more DA2 dlc, well, okay fine, marketing decision. I understand. But they could at least just say so, so that we can move on to other games instead of keeping DA2 savegames cluttering up filespace in the vain hope that the silence from the dev team means there might possibly be another good story dlc.

I don't mind waiting, as long as I know there's something in the works worth waiting for.

Maybe people wouldn't be foaming at the mouth for new DLC content if they had only released a Construction Kit for modders to make content with...? :innocent:

Ah yes, but perhaps BioWare wants us foaming at the mouth for DLC, hence why they didn't release a SDK.

It's a conspiracy! :wizard:
