There was a long wait between DA2 and the first Story DLC, and then another long wait between that and the second story DLC. Hopefully ALL of Bioware are learning the metrics or profits or whatever it takes to convince them that we want more substantial story-driven content. Both story DLCs for DA2 received a lot of positive feedback, and I am hoping that has inspired Bioware to focus specifically on that kind of content.
But the supposed long wait between DA2 and Legacy was because they had to re-evaluate everything they did in DA2 due to the largely ****** poor reception the game received. Hell, at this point after DAO had been released (~10 months), we had not only seen all the DLC and an expack, but they had already announced the sequel. Even in ME2's post release life cycle, at 10 months post launch they had already released every DLC but Invasion, which wasn't even worked on by Edmonton but Montreal instead.
Whether or not the 2 DLC's thus far have been received positively or not only is going to matter so much when we're almost a whole year from DA2's launch with a game that had a tepid response. With any DLC/post release content, you're only appealing to the people who own the base game and with something like DA2 where a significant number of people didn't enjoy the base game and even if they did like it, its almost one year post launch, the number of possible people out to buy PRC is going to be a fraction of a fraction. At some point, its likely just not worth it.
At most I could see them releasing one last DLC for DA2, especially considering they're releasing the DA anime next month. Or maybe they tease something DA related in ME3. But I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they're done with DA2 either. Thats my hope personally- just move on to something better, hopefully.
