In a post on Twitter, series executive producer Mark Darrah said that an expansion to Dragon Age II known as Exalted March was canceled in favor of "other Dragon Age opportunities."
What other DA opportunities? Multiplayer? DA3?Dragon effect?

Bioware is evidently really struggling to keep the Dragon Age franchise alive. What a shame! It will most likely die a silent death...

Actually, they try to keep it alive, since they focus on DA3. It is this game that will determine the future of the franchise and not an expansion.Dubya75 wrote...

I'm sure he'll have a very nice headstone with the line when you interact with it changing depending on what your dominant tone from DA2 was.shadowhawk233 wrote...
But what of Hawke? People wanted a better ending for him/her. They said that there is no more DLC for DA2...

Has Bioware explicitly mentioned Dragon Age 3?

At the time, we were pursuing an expansion pack to DAII, however certain opportunities made it better to move to the next DA game.
David Gaider wrote...
I wish it was otherwise, myself, but when it comes to story design in game development no plan ever survives contact with the enemy. There's always a balance between what you want to do and what you have to do... and, honestly, what often happens is that thing you really didn't want to do turns out to be the better route in the end. Which is frustrating as hell, but serendipity's a **** like that.
So we'll move on and try to make it work, and hopefully the sacrifice will come with some payoff-- as in a payoff for the fans, of DA2 as well as the series in general, when they eventually see what that sacrifice was for.

Could you cite when he said that? I don't remember him ever saying they'd be in upcoming DLC. I have a feeling what he actually said was merely that they'd be important for 'things to come.'

:C I hope this means they're working on DA3 to make it more how it should have been in DA2. A marriage between DA:O and DA2.
However what happens to Hawke story? No wonder Gaider was in other threads commenting they had wanted to release this to finish up the story but I guess we're getting some other type of product. I'm guessing comic books?
I'm dissappointed to be honest. I felt they really did need to finish the story.

Despite DA2 not living up to the potential and the ending for ME3 I would have still be really interested in the expansion to wrap up Hawke's story. I really liked Hawke.
And also no Ultimate Edition? Boo.

I am not sure I want to buy the game any more, I could stomach the expensive DLCs, but the canceled ending rumors ... to know no matter what I do in the game, I wont get to the end.

It would be nice if, rather then evil Day-1 DLC, they could work on some kind of DA2 DLC while DA3 is in certification. Maybe we could play out the final events of "Asunder" with our Hawkes, helping mages or templars, and people who don't want to play Hawke could make a new mage/templar, if such is possible. It would be useful to get people up to speed with the book and make them feel more involved in it. I want to meet Lord Seeker Lambert anyway.
Wish I knew there was only a few days to give your opinion though. Typed up a list of DA3 wants and came to find they locked it hours ago. Fuuuu--
