I'd rather they take their time and produce something really good and bigger than Legacy/MOTA. And if they've pulled the plug, oh well, there are plenty of other great series still going strong.

Point. Missing it.

Nobody minds if they're taking six months/a year/the next millenium to work on something so that it comes out well. What we mind is the complete silence on whether or not they are working on something at all.,

If there's no more DA2 dlc, well, okay fine, marketing decision. I understand. But they could at least just say so, so that we can move on to other games instead of keeping DA2 savegames cluttering up filespace in the vain hope that the silence from the dev team means there might possibly be another good story dlc.

I don't mind waiting, as long as I know there's something in the works worth waiting for.

This just in: Bioware are secretive about their projects!

They don't make announcements because things can change behind the scenes. Such as Return to Ostager kept having its release date postponed.

And even if they did have no plans for more dlc. Maybe they want to leave open the option. For example if there was a last minute decision for a bridging dlc prior to DA3.

Different studios working on different projects. If some of the DA2 crew whent to work with the other guys I don't think it would be much of a problem when making DLC

I'm gonna go with. They don't want to screw up new DLC.

Hopefully. Work on DA3, no more of this "Look! We're making it better!" DLC.

At the article: Instead of "cutting their losses" Bioware should be trying to redeem the name of Hawke in the eyes of the fanbase. It isn't good for the story to keep switching lead characters :<, we will start to get lost in the end and the story will lose it's direction.
I think the only reason noone clicked to Hawke is because of DA2 not because of Hawke's character :<. It's totally not fair on the character for Bioware to just wipe Hawke off of the face of Thedas.

Bioware at least needs to give Hawke one more shot at capturing the hearts of it's fans. They owe it to Hawke.

I'll be honest, I'm very anti DA2 - but were they to bring out an expansion like Awakening, rather than a little DLC, I would give it a whirl.

If they really set the stage for DA3, and really tried to find that happy middle ground between DAO and DA2 - I think it would help the healing begin a little.

I think it might be an idea to look forward, rather than revisit the scene of DA2 repeatedly.

There's plenty of BioWare stuff that people love, like Mass Effect, Star Wars and games like Dragon Age: Origins, NWN, BG - they aren't stuck with trying to milk DA2 luckily.

I'd assume the people that were fooled by the promises made by Legacy didn't fall for it again with Mark of the Assassin so the sales simply don't justify creating new DLC.

Yeah, what promises?

The only clue we ever had that there would be more DLC after MotA were the 2 square ground coverings in Hawke's place, suggesting 2 more statues...
But it don't look like any of that's happening now.

Honestly I loved the Legacy dlc, but I didnt even look into the FD dlc that came out due to not liking her or her below average voice acting. I dont care to have more dlc for DA2. I rather them have the full team and then some working on DA3 and making sure the whole game is up to the dlc Legacy quality and combat system and have the world as expansive as DAO with choices mattering.

I seriously doubt enough people bought it to make it worth their while.

I seriously doubt sales matter much to begin with. No one bought that damn horse armor for Oblivion and they made ten pieces of DLC over two years after the fact. I think people are just panicky because there has been no announcement yet...

I don't know what "promises" you are talking about and I liked legacy alot and Mark of the assasin aswell, Tallis is a very nice character people whine and .... about everything, I wish to see them create something and post it on the web, then read their answer to all the posters... Umm maybe not I don't want to read how they jumped for a high building, alright keep going with the .... whatchamacallit

BioWare uses DLC to test ideas. They have released free DLC in the past. That's essentially throwing money away. However! What they get back for it, is community reaction and feedback. Look at the hovertank thing in ME2... and then the hover car in LotSB.

I suspect BioWare is going to wait on the DA2 DLC until they have a more concrete idea of what they'll want to do with DA3. Then we'll start to see those ideas show up in DA2 DLC. Though I'd prefer an expansion pack with a new exe that did more neat DA2-DA3 hybrid test stuff.

I do. For DLC. Not much no for the main game, of course they matter financially.

But considering the game is a technical  financial success, selling a million plus copies (no way to determine for sure though, VG Chartz is an unreliable source and no one talks about sales unless if its a 9-10 million winner elsewhere. I just recall IGN mentioning 1 million sold within the first two weeks or something like that)  any DLC made is worth it irregardless to the fact of them selling or not.

And honestly, lets look at the DLC releases so far, shall we?

Exiled Prince and Black Emporium, along with the other pre-order bonuses, are all in-box.

April 2011 we got the first Item Pack

July 2011 we got Legacy

August 2011 we got the second Item Pack

October 2011 we got MOTA

Now, it's a 3-4 month period between major DLC. Were around the time period where the next DLC would be announced. I bet we shall see an announcement within the next month, and probably get a DLC release either after March 6, or right before it.

I get the feeling it's done and over.

Maybe it's not. But Skyrim came out... I disappeared from the internet as Skyrim ate my life.... and I come back and there's a new book for DA but no news for any more DLC or anything else actually. I just think it's over. And why not? Focus on the next game.

I'd expect a mid-late january announcement of the 3rd DLC with an early Feb release, feb is the one free month for bioware where nothing is coming out and the development times synchs with the last 2 story dlc and pimping out me3 wouldn't be til the mid-end of feb

til then continue speculating wildly bout how the sky is falling or whatever it is you things whine on about

Most of the DA:O dlc was kind of bad - Return to Ostagar, Leliana's Song, and Golems of Agmarrak were the best once, but they pale in comparison to the quality of Legacy and Mark of the Assasin, and all of the ME2 dlc, IMO. So, I'd rather get fewer, higher quality ones than more crappy ones.

But all the DA2 hangman t-shirts the devs were wearing at conventions last year made it seem like there was a bunch of dlc on the way - since none of the things on those shirts have been referrenced in Legacy or MotA, there must be more to come, right?

At this point, I'm expecting an expansion pack. While I loved DA2, a lot of people didn't - there are major mechanics (such as changing companions' armor) that they gripe about. Bioware can't address those concerns in DLC. But they can address them in an expansion. So, is it better for them to realise multiple small dlcs that don't fix anything the haters wanted changed, or release one big expansion that addresses those issues in hopes to win back some of the haters?

Tho I hope they announce something soon...

For once i would like Bioware to annouce what DLC for DA2 (maybe some hints or something) and when they plan to release them instead of keeping us in the dark threw out the months if not years. I mean they got 2 good feedbacks on Legacy and MOTA DLC, so what could have stopped them from producing more DA2 DLC and i don't think ME3 and the new Star Wars games has got to do with it. I think the DA team is lazy and uninspired. <_<

Folks, it has been a year. If BioWare is doing anything, I bet they are too busy working on "SWTOR" feedback and game issues. "SWTOR's" success is much more important.
