Mike Laidlaw still believes that stripping out RPG elements is the way to go however and I don't see it ending well.

I don't see how DA2 has stripped away any more RPG elements than praised games like Skyrim. Skyrim is literally hack and slash combat, and removed core RPG elements like statistics. Not to mention DA is one of the few series left that genuinely revolves around party play.

But that's not an RPG feature. That's just a gameplay feature.

Like i said, we are so overdue for next piece of DA2 DLC content to be thrown at us and the silence is not helping. <_<

*sighs* It has been said already, but allow me repeat it anyways: Bioware simply has too much on its plate right now to announce DA2 DLC. Think about it for a moment. With the release of that Star Wars MMO and ME3 on the horizon Bioware they must have people's attention on those projects for now. Rest easy because after the dust settles and ME3 is out the door we'll be getting something good on the DLC side, believe me it will rock. ;)

I doubt that.  ME3 comes out in March, so lets say they wait until then.  So... second week of March we get an announcement.  Then there has to be some sort of build up... say, another 2-3 weeks of promotion.    So  It's now April when  a New  Dragon age DLC comes out  (a whole 7 months after the previous one and more than an entire year after the  base Game's release?)

I just don't see that.  Companies look at "Big Pictures".  And the big picture  says that the window of attention for DA2 has  shut.  (its been a year, after all)

Bioware, has, however, begun dropping little tidbits about DA3.  In fact, just about ALL their language  in the past 3-4 months has been decidedly  future oriented.  I seriously doubt they're going to bother, after 7 months of nothing, to go back to adding stuff on to DA2.

Honestly, it might be a stroke of brilliance on Bioware's part. Despite all of their silence, I've seen a huge upswing in forum activity.

Its like people can sense that Bioware's NOT saying anything.

Do we have sales figures on the DLC already released? That would be a determining factor on whether Bioware would spend money making more. If the projected sales for new DA2 DLC are low (like I suspect they are), they aren't going to make any more.

Oh, ye of little faith. Still, given the circumstances I don't blame you for being skeptical. Just hold tight and wait and see. You won't be disappointed.

I'm not going to let them disappoint me. I'm not buying any more DA2 DLC  (I bought legacy then called it quits for DA2)  no matter how good everyone in the world swears it is. And even if I  could be swayed, I still wouldn't want to hear that they're working on one. I'd *much* rather hear that the entire DA team is now focussing on DA3.

Not being disappointed is a forgone conclusion for many players who either found it disappointing or just didn't buy it. DLC as an avenue of income is certainly a factor, but the figures will be internal and of course after DA2's mixed, to put it mildly, reception, future DLC sales are almost certain to have declined rapidly. However, I wouldn't be suprised if they use DLC as a test bed for DA3, if they take in revenue whilst doing so then that's a bonus, but not the main function.

Were you even making a point? All I saw was 1)a call to have faith and 2) an assurance that I wouldn't be disappointed.

Both are shots in the dark that force us to  ignore the company's track record and what we're actually seeing with our own eyes in the present.

How can they even think of working on Dragon Age 3 when they said that Hawke's story is not complete? And even though I'm a huge Origins fan over DA2, I still want to see Hawke's story to the end. <_<

How could they move on to DA3 when  Hawke's story isn't completed?     Dunno.   I imagine the same way they moved on to DA2 even though Morrigan's story wasn't complete, and even though they flat out promised 2 years of DA:O dlc.

Bioware are the masters of the Dangling  plot  thread.

Well Bioware certainly has gone to the dogs ever since they teamed up with EA. And that means Bioware has gone badly wrong and lost all the good things it had. I don't hate DA2. I feel sorry for it. Because the idea and some aspects of the finished game showed great potential. But they blew it because of greed and cutting corners.

Also i thought Witch Hunt tied up Morrigan's Story?

Okay, this isn't the first time I've seen this mentioned... are you talking about the DA2 forums or just BSN in general? I mean, the DA2 forums still seem awfully dead to me. Main subforums can go for over an hour without a post.

I suspect it's an expansion. One that gives us a segue into DA3. Because they want it to improve the flaws of the main game and simultaneously get people excited for DA3 it is taking much longer than normal. From a marketing perspective this silence is brilliant- just look at the hype starting to build. They is trolling us and we are feeding them. :-D

Wow, thanks for this! Didn't know you had inside info about what goes in at Bioware and who works on what...

I'm actually coming around to this idea as well mainly because the wait just seems too long for mere dlc, even despite the other games on Bioware's plate.

I feel like a damn midget desperately trying to jump high enough to grasp that plot thread, only for Bioware to keep pulling it away and laughing maniacally as they do so.

One of these days though, they'll learn that you don't anger a midget.

I can see that.

But they sure as hell better give us a proactive Hawke and not an idjit Hawke.
