The game is going on a year old and there hasn't been a dlc in 5 months...Origins had 3 times the dlc and was finished in 9 months...throw in the negative buzz of the game (and lackluster sales) and I think it is safe to assume the dlc train is finished...

Considering the heavy release schedule coming up, not all.  We know how EA is about crowded release windows...

It looks like Bioware let DA2 down, it's been like... 4 months? Nothing happened... :crying:

You have to see that your blind optimism is jus that: blind. Think about it logically. The game has been out for almost a year. When ME3 is released, that will be a year. The last DLC was in October. That's almost 4 months to make an announcement without stepping on ME3's toes. The game was not smash-hit and even most smash-hit titles don't release DLC after a full year.

I think you're right. The window of opportunity is getting smaller by the day...

I just hope they do release some more content. I quite enjoyed DA2. In fact, I have completed 4 playthroughs and I´m planning on doing at least 1 more. This is coming from a guy who madly loves BG series (I bet you guessed it from my Avatar name) and also DA:Origins.

Yes, there are some things that could be better, I´m not blind. But I would be a bit sad if this game gets thrown into oblivion without, at least, an Awakening size expansion. Especially after DLC like "Legacy" and "Mark of the Assassin", which ( in my opinion, just mine) were far better than any DA:O DLC (except Awakening, which I consider an expansion)

The time since MOTA was released is like double the time between Legacy's release and MOTA's announcement. So I'm thinking either one really big DLC next month / March or nothing.

It would be great if someone at BW would just post something on the forums saying "We still have plans for more DA2 content in the near future" and we can be patient instead of just the silent treatment. It would be a real shame if BW ended DA2 content with MOTA as the final product.

If they cared about DA2, they would have said something, but it looks like they care more about ME3 and what not then DA2. <_< Maybe DA2 was a failure to them and by not saying anything is their way of distancing themselves from it.

@shadowhawk233... I think that is understanable given that ME3 comes out soon. I just wish that they would either say. Sorry this is the end of line for da2 or we are working on something but we don't know when or if it is finished.

The fact they don't take 1 minute of time to say "Relax, we're working on something" is just starting to irritate me! :pinched:

I don't get why a DA announcement would be bad for TOR's (before) or ME3's release. They're not exactly directly competing. Even if they were it's not like the DA DLC would be released on the same day as ME3. If anything I would think they would want to capitalize on the attention BioWare is getting with these other releases to make the most of a DA announcement.

Trying to understand the marketing people just gives me a headache. Without fail.

If I had to venture a guess, it's because Bioware fans buying DA2 DLC worth z dollars means they have less money to spend on other Bioware/EA content; content that is at full price and is likely to lead to a larger money spend down the line (via, say, ME3 DLC). That could be completely wrong.

There's obviously a reason (even if the silence is related to other games' release dates and not something as mundane as 'they're still working on it').

I know it's quixotic at best, but I'd really appreciate some reassurance that content is being worked on. It's getting a bit too long to just be the usual "hard at work on the next DLC, no time to chat".

And part of me agrees that a year after release, especially with a much-reduced market base, isn't exactly a promising combination for new content.

Yeah, I mean they show up to lock "resurrected" threads and tell off flamebaiters but a yes or no to more DLC sometime is too much to ask for?

why are people logically trying to figure this DLC issue, catching so much crap? Just let us talk about what we want to, even if there happens to be a bunch of threads, what's the problem with that?
Still holding out hope that an expansion is in the works, with so much going on the long wait is not surprising to me. Just not giving said hopes up...

And when they decide to announce they will have no more DLC they will....

Just like how they announced WItchhunt would be the last.

I will wait for an official answer because I have seen this speculation time and time again and its getting boring see people think how they know it all.

So much This! (bolded)  Geesh people, look at the time of year and what has been going on. Holidays, a major game release, a book published...with a writing contest they are currently judging...BW has not been sitting on their hands. Patience is key...BW has a pattern of saying when a dlc is the last one and that has not been stated yet for DA2. A lot of you are acting as if DA2 is the only thing they have on the agenda...the devs are people with their own personal lives. With the recent holidays and SWTOR...I can't fault the devs for taking a break to unwind. So relax and have some patience. Melca is right...until they make an official announcement you are all just speculating.

The people involved in developing SW:TOR and the people involved in developing Dragon Age are not the same people.

Thank you.:wizard:

I mean how many times have we heard this speculation before? We heard it before Legacy.  Remember when people kept harping that there would be no DLC back then?

And look at all the speculation during Origins. Its the same thing over and over & I think some of these same people will be the first ones complaining when a dlc does come out and its not to their liking.

Honestly, I think the reason these people keep saying there will not be any more dlc is because they believe their whining will some how "persuade" Bioware to finally make an announcement. It's clear that they are still working on something and, as you said Melca36, they will announce it when they can, despite what the negative Nellies say.

What are you talking about? When was ever a lull in DLC for Origins? The entire DLC cycle lasted 9 months and was really crowded. To put things into perspective for you, that's less time than has passed between DA2's release and now. Your blind optimism and disregard for any logical argument is really annoying.

You guys keep saying "They have personal lives, they just got back from winter vacation, they just released a major title, they have a major title about to launch" etc. How do their personal lives effect their work lives to the point that they have no mouths to speak of a new DLC or fingers to post about it here? How does a vacation effect what's happening now? How does the launch of a new game last year effect announcements from a different studio this year? How does ME3 coming out 5 months after MotA keep them from announcing something?
