Fair point. I figure that's how Cerberus views the other races as well but I believe having them around can yield some great inventions and discoveries that could benefit humanity and the galaxy as a whole. Carriers! Ah... also human.
The aliens have given us nothing we wouldn't have eventually produced ourselves. A slightly better gun? Slightly better armor? That's not much.
The other races are competitors and if we can safely neutralize them then we should. It will leave humanity with more room to grow and less to fear.

No, Saren didn't have a clue. And when he finally realized what he was dealing with, he was already indoctrinated.
TIM however knows exactly what he's dealing with and he's doing everything in his power not to become indoctrinated. And if he's as smart as he seems to be, he has a back-up plan for when he DOES get indoctrinated. I guess TIM is smart enough to have that.
