Where are you supposed to get these two codex entries? I know they're supposedly given to you by a certain VI near the end of the game, but I exhausted every dialogue option with it and no luck. Anyone else get these? Be sure to let me know which system you use, because I'm PC.

The talk page for the Codex Entry Guide on the Mass Effect Wiki seems to say that they are unobtainable.
However, someone did say this:

Space Combat: Trans-Relay Assaults - 16 playthroughs later, I only got this entry once. And it wasn't from Vigil. I wish I knew where it was.

Which suggest that they are possible. That is the only time someone has ever mentioned actually getting them, though.

I also tried every dialog option possible with Vigil on Ilos, and none of them grant either unlock.

I know, I read through the exact same pages and found the exact same information, which is why I came here hoping the BSN community would have more.

I saw something about extra dialog with Liara in your party, so I tested that next.

The extra dialog was a chance to ask some of the same questions again, with no results.

Still a mystery, I suppose.

So I imported my save file from Mass Effect into Mass Effect 2 and Trans-Relay Assaults was there.

It must have been activated, but not shown up in the Codex for the first game.

Nah, that always happens. Codex entries don't any carry-over properties like other things. Some entries like Starships: Dreadnoughts have to be obtained in each game.

bump. I still could use some help on this, and I know from experience that BSN is both friendly and helpful when it comes to inquiries like this.

Anyone know the answer to this? I wouldn't know where else to go.

I'm also highly interested in a possible answer to this conundrum.

I'm curious, too... I just finished two completionist-style Paragon runs, and didn't get the Codex entry. Maybe it's triggered by Renegade responses? I don't have any full renegade playthroughs to check, though.

Seems that still no one knows. Hopefully the PS3 release will get people asking more questions.

I've deconstructed every conversation in the game (I'm building a conversation viewer). I can tell you absolutely, that those two Codex entries are not unlocked in the Vigil conversation.

There *is* a conversation that contains the code to unlock both those Codex entries, but it's weird. The conversation in the code is subtly different than the one in the game.

There's the conversation in the code. The first line is set to activate State Transition 4995, which in turn activates Codex entry 6200 "CODEX: Space Combat: Trans-Relay Assaults". The second line activate State Transition 5724 and Codex entry 7050 "CODEX: Weapons: Javelin".

But the third, fourth, and seventh lines of this conversation are never spoken in the game.

You can see the conversation as it plays out in-game there. I'm not sure where the conversation that plays in-game comes from. I can't find it in the code anywhere...

Also interesting to note is the fact that there are other Codex entries in the code that are never able to be unlocked in ME1:

CODEX: Citadel Station: Foundations
CODEX: Harvesters
CODEX: Mods

TL;DR - The conversation that's supposed to unlock those two Codex entries is bugged, and it's not the Vigil conversation.
