Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great day. I started my second playthrough and just now I noticed that the Talents on mine and Alistairs toolbars are disabled. And even though they both have the proper weapon equipped, if I try to click on a talent, it says weapon not equipped.....when it actually is. Leliana and Morrigan are not having this issue. Anyone know why this is?
Thanks for any help.

Well...I made a little progress. On my MC female rogue archer/duel wielding character, somehow my crossbow just disappeared, but when I bought her a new bow all of her talents showed back up. Not so with Alistair his talents are still locked and unusable. I'm going to try buying him a new sword and see what happens... Strange that this didn't happen in all 140 hours of my 1st playthrough. Go figure.

No one can really do a good job helping you unless you give us certain basic information. Please consult the "READ FIRST" thread pinned towards the top of this forum.
In your case, it is especially important to know what mods, if any, you've installed.

Thank you Raen. I will go read it. Just so you know, my game is bone stock with no mods at all. Unless you consider me downloading the Dragon Age Toolkit and changing the voice of my character a mod, it's all stock. Off to read the "READ FIRST" thread. : )

Oh Raen, I can't thank you enough for this little nugget: site:social.bioware.com That alone was reason to read your "read this" sticky! But there is a lot of other useful info there as well. I appreciate you taking the time to write the guide. You'll have to bear with me a little bit...I'm not a noob to gaming, but I'm certainly a noob to role playing games like Dragon Age: Origins. Please forgive me if I've made your job difficult in any way. : )

Well, I got my Main Character's talent bar working by equipping another bow. Suddenly all of the talents showed up and started working, but it didn't work for Alistair: I bought him a new sword, and equipped it and his talents are still disabled/grayed out. Go figure.......

Glad to help, and welcome aboard. And for the record, yes, using the Toolkit can do weird things to the game, though I don't know if that could have caused it in this case. Glad it seems to be working now.

This is a bummer. Alistair is still not working. He's got all of these nice two hand sword talents yet they are all grayed out and not clickable. I keep bring him along because he's my tank and he still does damage, just not the kind of damage he would do with say, the Critical talent.
I'm think of just uninstalling the whole game and starting over, but that would be a lot of hard work down the drain. Oh well.......
