Will Udina have our back?

In ME3 what if I need to try, and convince the Council of something important, and Udina gangs up with them against me? I'm wondering if this choice is something I'm going to have to pay for.
I was wondering what you guys thought about this.

Biggest opportunist yes. But biggest idiot? I don't think so. Udina is opportunistic scum, and I admit this, but he is useful opportunistic scum. Besides the only other option was Anderson. I like Anderson alot, but he's not a soldier, not a politician. He's more suited to military duty rather than council work. Udina already had experience being an Ambassador, and does care about human interests significantly.
Miranda even said in the beginning of ME2 that he has done an admirable job representing humanities interests, while if you chose Anderson she mentions he was more suited to or prefered life in the military. When I chose Udina I didn't do it on the basis that it was a popularity contest. I did it on the basis on who would be better suited for the job.

I disagree for me I believe that Anderson would be a better choice, I'd rather someone who is in the military be the councilour over Udina. The reason I say that udina is the biggest idiot is because he betrays shepard, and no one betrays shepard - so that is why I hope my shepards get the chance to remove him permeantly.

That is another reason that is why I never hestitate to choose anderson, without even thinking I pick anderson which is no contest. I'd also prefer someone with a military background who has served in the military and has seen things and has negotiated disputes over an ambassador who probably never has served. that and no matter what I want people who trusts shepard and won't betray them for personal gain. Though I do have a strange feeling that in ME 3 anderson is going to end up dieing or betraying shepard and the galaxy but I won't regret my decision.

But Udina is on the Council regardless of your choice, as seen in Retribution and Inquisition?King Minos wrote...
Oh he has your back, while licking your ear. I expect both Anderson and Udina to act the same, depending on who ever is on the council. I doubt there would be a difference between.

Because he's a good politician and knows how to play the game. While I personally like Anderson, he's not suited or even qualified to represent Humanity's interests. People also conveniently forget that Udina has done a lot of good too. For example, he brought Saren's crimes to the attention of the Council and was instrumental in Shepard's induction to the Spectres. As a Councilman in ME2, if you listen to the news reports, you'll hear how he is the only one on the Council who requests intervention in the Collector abductions of human colonies, and he is also the only one who refuses to negotiate with the Batarian Hegemony after it is learned that they have developed technology that can be used as weapons of mass destruction, even though they claim they're using it for peaceful purposes (remind you of something?).

Co-sign. I made Anderson councilor but regret it, he's done nothing with it. My thinking was a soldier like him would be a leader, man-of-action and not bureaucracy. And of utmost importance, to maintain focus on the Reapers.
Epic fail. He can't handle anything in the big chair: not dealing with anti-human sentiment, not keeping at least the Alliance honest about the Reaper threat. At that point, what good is he? That decision was ultimately a "miss" on my part.

Anderson decides to stay on Earth to help all the citizens, which will end up in Udina filling his spot on the council anyway
