I was stupid enough to cast haste while still in Athkatla, in the middle of Jan Jansen's quest, so the Cowled Wizards teleported in an (as it was not the first time I did that) proceeded to attack me.
In the confusion, I managed to escape the Cowled Wizards by going into Jan's home. Everything was ok, as far as I knew, and just went onto the next stage in his quest line, then promptly went off to the Sewers to look for the The Hidden.
I finished it all up, killed the Githyanki and went back to hand in the quest with Jan. I go up and just barely stopped Anomen from attacking Jan and turned off the AI. Jan isn't attacking me, but he is considered hostile, and I've tried tossing Mental Domination on him, but that doesn't work. I don't have any saves before his quest, so I'm really desperate for a fix of some sort.
I've tried to look for a solution in these forums, but from what I've read, using the CLUA is just about the only solution that was ever considered for accidentally turning an NPC hostile.
Since I'm all out of options (that I know about), could anyone chip in any suggestions how to make him not-hostile again, so I can finish the quest and have him back in my group?
I'm using Vanilla btw. Only mods I have is a Haer'Dalis romance mod. The only cheat I've used, barring the ones I tried to un-hostile Jan, is the money cheat.
I don't think I've downloaded any of the Fix or Tweak packs yet, because the game was initially installed by someone else on my computer.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I tried to instead kill Jan Jansen and then use the CreateCreature command, however it ends up resetting him completely, (I used all Jan's known codes, JAN12,11,10 and 8). He automatically initiates dialogue with me, peddling his Flasher, and when I end the dialogue from either way (the good response, or the bad response), a second will pass and he will turn hostile and then actually attack me.

You could perhaps try using the cheat command to add him into your party and then eject him and see if that resets his hostility.

What cheat command would that be?

If he is hostile because of an unforseen event like accidental damage (See screen shot) then that will be stored in the game file and won’t show up as a veritable... as you don’t have a backup save (naughty boy) you will need to use NearInfinity to fix the issue.

This is how I’d fix it;
Make a new non-combat game save (not the auto save)... I called mine jan.
Open that saves BALDUR.GAM folder using NearInfinity & find the character marker. As Jan is an potential groupie he will be somewhere in the non-player characters (bottom right) column... find him and press the [view/edit] button. Note that my save shows *AN8 but your number could be different because the game has several template to account for how long you waited to recruit him.

Depending on what version of NearInfinity press the view tab at the top and look at his current [Enemy-Ally] status (top right). For the sake of argument I’ll assume it says Enemy.

Press the edit tab and scroll to/ select the bottom line & press the [view/edit] button... should say CRE

Now press the new edit tab and scroll to/ select the [Enemy-Ally] line (usually about half way down) & update to value (since he has already been in your group before you should probably select neutral) & press the [update/value] button.

Close down the tabs and be sure to save the changes when asked.

That should stop him trying to attack you but I don’t use any “force talk/ join cheats” so I can’t help you with that part... good luck!

Wow. Perhaps try Ctrl-R first.
Failing that, how about Ctrl-Y and resurrecting?
EDIT D'oh if he's hostile, he's no longer in your party list, so don't use Ctrl-Y.
The cheat to add people into your party is Ctrl-Q. Try this, it's your best bet. You may not manage to complete Jan's quest, but at least your game can continue. Could try saving, removing him from party, and talking to him, may continue.

It's Jan's script (JAN.BCS) which causes him to go hostile if any of his family die or turn hostile themselves (could be caused by a damaging AoE cast by the wizard's chasing you, or even their shout script - which sometimes unintentionally turns creatures hostile).
If you have Near Infinity find JAN.BCS and in the blocks calling for him to Enemy() add the line False() immediately below "IF" (or above "THEN", but not in the OR(10) condition section). Realistically, you'd think he'd want revenge on the wizards, rather than your party...
