Acutally, I think all the humans are very interesting, except Jack and Miranda... but I don't like Liara, Samara and Thane much so...
My top favs are: Kaidan, Mordin(old Mordin, not this new voice **** \\

For me the answer is simple. This is not a case of humans are more interesting or aliens are. No, what it comes down to is Mordin > everyone.
Because no one else was as entertaining to talk too as Mordin. Compared to him they were all boring.
...Although Joker comes close second to him.

Seriously guys ... it's a matter of taste. You like exotic women? The women of your own ppl are boring compared against those exotic women - even if they're not boring. Just because of "exotic is new". We had something like this before.
For me, Garrus wasted a lot of potential in ME2. Sure, he had his awesome scenes - but for a bro he's not really ... communicative. Once you're done with his LM and had the "reach-flexibility" talk (as male Shep) he has nothing to say anymore. "Calibrations" anyone?
Mordin had at least different lines to brush off Shepard ...
And Joker, although not coming with much generic dialogue, had an opinion about every mission. Something I missed for most characters in ME2 ... I simply want to know what they have in their minds.
However, that's more or less a writer's fault. I don't think there are characters you can call "boring". Actually, it's quite different: a lot of characters receive strong feelings, mostly love or hate. That tells me the writer(s) did a great job with that particular character(s).

It really depends on the character. Some aliens are boring and likewise some humans. If it were to be based on race though I would have to say humans are more boring.....only because I am one.
Speaking of: the Asari are a great example for a good mix of "interesting" and "less interesting" characters. Mostly because there are dozens of Asari characters in the series compared few (named) Salarians or Krogans.
I'd say Liara is a bit like a "plain Jane" - especially in her species' standards. There are other Asari I find far more interesting. Too bad my Shep had to take down Tela Vasir. And Aria has something too.
So Liara is nice and calm and everything - a good friend.
But - at least for me - not interesting enough for being MORE than a good friend

I too found Liara to be ''Plain Jane''. Aria was one that was far more interesting in my opinion.

Asari are okay ... nothing special, except the fact all of them are women. Of all species Asari are the closest to Humans, and that's not just caused by their looks but also caused by similar character.

Jack also has a soft place in my heart, for being so adorable and Kasumi is sexy!
But all the others... I hate Jacob, because he´s so likable, but so badly written, it makes my heart bleed.
Zaeed. I hate him. Bioware could have left Jacob and Zaeed both out of the squad of ME2 and the game would have been so much better.
Ashley- She´s such an annoying personality, that i infact enjoy nuking her.
She´s pretty much the archetype of the sort of a women i can´t stand.

Psychologically, all the nonhumans are more or less human, so there's not a big difference, except that most nonhumans appear to be restricted to specific mindsets, which makes *them* less interesting than the humans. They're all physically humanoid as well, which makes them less interesting as aliens.
So no, I prefer the human characters as a rule. They're more convincing as LIs as well.

Every human member has a history belonging only for themself. Ashley is in the blacklist of the Alliance by her grandfather actions. Kaidan past in the BAaT. Anderson during salvation, Miranda wanting control in her life. Jacob and her anger against red tape, Jack and her life running from Cerberus. Kasumi and her life as a thief.
They all have interesting backgrounds. If I have to choose the less interesting character s/he wouldn't be a human.
For me the most bored character is Tali. What we know about her is being a quarian, she doesn't have any more interesting thing beside being a quarian. And that's almost every she talks about: quarian/geth history, quarian inmune system, quarian politicals, etc.
We learn a lot of quarian things from her, but we don't learn almost nothing of her (only that she is the daughter of an admiral).

so i guess what im trying to say is that all the other characters are very different in one way or another, but i think the ones i said were boring had personalities i have seen many times before and not anything very different and interesting about them.
but thats just my opinion of course.
thanks for expressing your opinion!
