Hello ME fans, something the other day caught my eye on the Australian websites noting that the pre-order exclusives have been handled very differently over here. I've done a call of our stores which seem to be doing pre-order exclusives to try and sort this out and it seems to be fairly disorganised. So I thought I'd make the job easier on you guys out there and tell you what they had to say:

EB Games

Standard Edition = Eb Games Exclusive Omni-blade Edition which includes:
  • Metalbook Tin Case (Unknown if the same as in the N7 Collectors Edition)
  • Inflatable Omni-Blade (Probably the same as the one from PAX)
  • M55 Argus  Assault Rifle
N7 Collectors Edition:
  • No exclusive pre-order content (you can always ask if they hae an extra argus code on pickup if you're lucky)
Game Australia

Standard Edition: N7 Warfare Gear:
  • N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle
  • N7 Defender Armor
N7 Collector's Edition:
  • Seems to also contain the N7 Warfare Gear (spoke to a manager at Game). No argus rifle.
Also JB Hi-Fi do not seem to be advertising any pre-order exclusive content.

Well, there it is. I have to say I am just a little disappointed that we seem to have been cheaped out of the exclusive gear with the M55 Argus and especially the EB Games N7 Edition, especially since I've put AUD$130 towards the CE and don't get the extras like the cheaper edition. Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions.

Are you sure, I thought Chris said everyone gets the M55 Argus

Supposedly everyone gets the Argus. I'd say if it doesn't show it, it's a mistake.

It does suck however that EA changed retailers with the bonus. I got ME2 from EB games, which came with the Terminus Armor/Blackstorm, so that's where I preordered, but now it's GAME that gets the equivalent!

So I've preordered from GAME anyway, and once I'm confident they'll have the N7 stock (i.e. I don't hear anything for a while) I'll cancel my EB order.

I hate to do that, since I hate the fact that this business practice is making me do exactly what it wants me to do, but I want all the content.

Im hoping EB here in NZ will get the N7 Wargear Set but I am getting a weird deja vu feeling of Space Marine again with EB not getting the Gamestop dlc :pinched:

Does that mean if i pre-order the N7 Collector's Edition from eb games i won't get the  Valkyrie Assault Rifle and the N7 Defender Armor?

I've bloody had it up to here with preorder dlc. I preordered the N7 at EB about 4 months ago. If I Don't/Get the Argus, great I don't care anyway, theres a bunch of guns that I'd prefer to use anyway (like the mattock). And now that Game is saying the N7 warfare pack is their exclusive, I just don't care anymore. EA is full aiogbseoiugvbsek(insert rage) and Australia gets the blunt end of the stick every time.

Im pretty sure it's not just EA. Australia is pretty iffy when it comes to video games.

Boy did I expect this load of horse manure even though I was hoping it wouldn't happen.

I pre-ordered N7 edition at EB around 4 months ago and now I hear about two different editions with extra gear that apparently I won't get even though I ordered the Collectors Edition. I'm sorry but I'm fairly certain that "Collectors Edition" tends to mean that you get everything in it and not everything except for...

I am so sick and tired of this EA/Bioware rubbish.

Granted I don't really care about that Omniblade edition from EB but I wanted the Warfare Gear with that armour and Valkyrie Assult Rifle. And to be honest I really don't feel like canceling my order with EB this late.

This really irritates me when they mess with loyal customers like this. And we've been loyal buying all of those DLCs for ME2, which cost as around half as much as the CE edition did in the first place. And of course it seemes we in Australia/NZ region always get the short end of the stick. Just once I wish they'd treat us like people who have been loyal to them for years.

That's my two cents.

*cough*OzGameShop*cough*

Seriously, why are you people bothering with Australian retail? EB Games and GAME have the standard edition on PC for about $88, at OzGameShop it's $49, and you probably get the M-55 as well. Australian retail as a whole is a joke - as another example I was looking at the Young Indiana Jones DVD sets:
- Amazon UK - all three seasons shipped = $65
- JB Hi-Fi = $63 per season ($189 all up)
- ABC shop = $100 per season ($300 all up)

I rest my case.

Some people would prefer to be able to play the game Day 1 than have to wait 2 weeks for the game to be shipped.

Hello Australians, got questions for you guys...

I'm moving to Australia next month after spending the last 5 years living in the US which means that my XBOX 360 is a US (NTSC-U) console. Does anybody know if ME3 is a region free game, I was considering buying the game at EB if it is, instead of waiting for Amazon to ship the game from the US. Basically, just wanting to play the game on launch day.

The irony is that I'm paying US$99 (AU$94) for the NTSC N7 Edition including delivery from Amazon while it costs AU$100 if I pick a physical copy from a local retailer... Are games really that much more expensive in Australia?

I can't answer about the regions on xbox, I don't have one, but are games that much more expensive here? YES!

It's ridiculous, and it's why I don't use Australian retail for most of my gaming anymore.

priestly said ME3 was region locked in this thread
http://social.biowar...ex/9111944&lf=8

so if you have a US xbox, probably best to stick with the US version.

Yeah it does, no pre-order bonuses from the CE from EBGames, you only get the argus for the omni-blade edition. Warfare gear isn't at EB's. Hopefully the manager can get me a spare argus code for my ce. At least he's let me have first dibs.

[*]This sucks big time, I've preordered CE with EB months ago and just found this out now. This exclusive content thing is getting way out of hand.
[*]Too late to cancle my order with EB and order from Game?

From what i'm looking at now both GAME and EB are offering the exact same thing for the N7 Collectors edition.

http://www.game.com.au/masseffect3

&

http://www.ebgames.c...tors-Edition-PC

Neither mention anything about the Argus, AT-12 or the Valkyrie

Did you even look at the GAME page you just linked? The Valkyrie being a preorder exclusive is confirmed right there.

Tell me about it.  Perfect example: DOW2: Retribution in america costs $20.  In Australia $59.95.  This is just bull.

I am going to ask my EB's regional manager to do a double check on the preorder dlc stuff (since what EB is doing is going against what EA/Bioware have said (just hope he is in the store tomorrow))

oh well I'll do the consumer thing 2moro and call EB
