So your first point was... pointless.

How does this attribute to making ME2 pointless? You're aware the major plot points in ME2 all revolved around Cerberus and the Collectors, right?

Well we are at the point where ME1 ended. I don't see what collectors have to do with the main reaper plot. Onlything that makes sense is introduction of TIM and the Geth story. Which I am glad to have in ME2 or the whole thing will be useless.
Btw, I am not looking to start a fight here. Thread is way off topic as it is. Just stating facts here.

So the actual squad number is 7 right? One of them is DLC and team dextro can be dead. So some people will have to play with 4 squad members?

It appears so, considering Tali and Garrus apparently dno't get replacements.

I was actually expecting only one more squadie to be announced- a human female lead. Then again, we probably would have already seen her in screenies and trailers.

I much rather would have preferred that over the other female we are getting...

There was mention of a female VA being cast as a crew member, the Vigilante, as I recall.  Nothing more ever came of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was suddenly announced as the DLC character, which would confirm that the old DLC character was moved to the main game.

You need at least 2. Shepard dies if there's less than 2.   And as long as Tali and Garrus survives, nothing else matters. The rest of them have a generic character to say their lines.

My thought on the squad, I thought I would see everyone who survived the suicide mission & love interests. That was about it...Now with the leaks, I'm just happy I'll be seeing Garrus and Tali again.

Didn't know where to ask but does anyone know what happenes if Shep didn't survive the SM? Who do we play in ME3 or is Bioware making Shep death a sort of Hand wavey Anders death type thing.

You don't. If Shep dies in ME2 you have to play it again and live or make a new character for ME3.

I was expecting Ash/Kaiden, Garrus, Tali, Miranda(default) or Jacob/Jack/Thane (if you romanced them), a new character, Liara and Legion.

new female li to rope in the male gamer (possibly female lead/cover companion) Gillian? I think she may be to young though (16 IIRC)

I anticipated two new LI and all LI returning minus Thane. Like mineralica I was expecting Normandy loveboat.

I expected the squad system to be re-vamped in an innovative way to cope with the problems they'd given themselves from ME2. I really didn't expect them to put this little effort in and if it is as bad as it seems i won't be happy.

Fake, he must have used gibbed to get that. Shepard needs two squadmates alive to survive the SM. And even if he ended with Zaeed and Kasumi alive, he can't kill Zaeed in his LM (you cant kill him if you only have 2 squadmembers).
