If it's set a few years later then I'd like to see the kids from DA1 as grown ups, Connor as a mage, Caitlin's brother as a warrior, the Elf girl who had her lamb stolen in Lothering as a rogue and the messenger kid from Denerim as a warrior or rogue. The fat lass from Orzamar who wanted to be a mage would be good fun as a mage who couldn't use magic just tagging along for the ride.

 I can NOT believe there is a question about this. First and foremost....Morganna !!! What the hell happened to her ???? Lianna, yeah, I know, some HATED her,,,I actually liked her a lot, (SHOES !!! I just LOVE shooooees !) And the biggest thing they messed up in DA2(and really ruined the game for me) is DOG !!!! Him rolling over, finding things for me, (stale cake !!!! and PANTIES ) and hearing Morg **** and complain. God I loved that game.

Sten , Oghren , Fenris , Merril & Sebastian . Sebastian because i simply like to have atleast one religous person in my crew who isnt annoying like Leliana and Wynne. In every playthrough of DAO i killed them both but somehow it seems that Leliana wont stay dead as she appears in DA2 /facepalm.

Varric, Nathaniel Howe, Fenris, Zevran, Alistair, Tallis, the surviving Hawke sibling, Leliana, and Oghren. Gotta have Oghren.

First and foremost, I would like to control my Warden again. As for recurring companions, I'd love to see some banter between Oghren and Varric. I'd also like to see Hawke as a companion, wherein his class and personality are derived from your choices in DA2. Antoher great companion to have back would be Morrigan, but only if your Warden romanced her or is BFFs with her...else she could just be a cameo). Lastly, I believe that all the DLC companions should make a non-playable cameo apperance (like Kasumi and Zaeed in ME3), just to add a little flavor to the mix.

On a side note, Anders/Justice would make for a nice boss, and tying Wynne (now dead, and inhabited by the spirit) into that particular quest would be nice. Something along the lines of Wynne's spirit wanting to release Justice and going back into the fade with it.

1. Morrigan - I would love for her to return as a companion, somehow. Her banter with other companions was the best in DA:O, closely followed by the conversation between Leliana and Sten where she points out that he was "training" a kitten.

2. Varric - He was a great character, a good friend, and I will not be satisfied until I know the origins of Bianca's name.

3. Sten - Before DA2 came out, I had hoped that he'd make a return at some point in the game. Though, I think, given the events of Act 2, it was for the best that he remained absent. Hopefully there's room for at least a cameo from Sten. Especially since I'm curious to see how he'd look in a new game with the Qunari redesign.

4. Alistair - I'd like to see another cameo from either King Alistair or drunken Alistair. I must say, meeting him in The Hanged Man in DA2 with a Queen Anora DA:O save was hilarious.

I would say Leliana, too, but I'm pretty sure her return is more or less guaranteed.

Firstly I say I REALLY want to see more of Fenris, yup partially to do with a weird little crush;  but mostly I'd love to know more about the Elf there could be interesting quests; and I say the same for Anders, lots to explore with.

Even if the hero of the next game might not be Hawke, I personally would love a few quest or a few cut scenes that deal with Hawke and her chosen lover what happened to them after the final battle depending on what choices were made in that game, weather they had a romance based on friendship or rivalry. That would have to include all potential lovers, so Fenris, Anders, Merril, Isabel, Sebastian.
As I said out of all of teh companions you could choose to form a relationship with, Fenris and Anders struck me as the best two, for me they where more intresting than the others.

Again for example being in a relationship with say Anders and letting Anders live and running off with him vs. letting him live but not running off with him; or Fenris finding more about his past and perhaps reconnecting with his sister. lol perhaps lots of little half human and Elven feet running around?! I'd say lots of little mage feet but I can't see it happening after all they are hunted, and obviously if they are a male Hawke that would be night on impossible....unless they adopt.

Varric is a fantastic character and very well acted, he had me in stitches throughout the game, again if the game is to be a direct follow on it'd be fantastic to dig up more of his past.

I know many will disagree with me but I think there is so much potential for doing a follow on game with Hawke and her companions, I can’t comment for Dragon age origins as I have yet to play it but I do belive a few game bloggers have said that they also feel DA2 would be the better choice for a sequal game than Dragon age origins both charater and plot wise.
