Merrill and Isabela. I know they were in both of the first two games, but I adore them too much to not want to see them back. Also I'd love more Varric tbh. 

Also I'm hoping for Cassandra Pentaghast and Flemeth as major characters. This is actually my biggest wish.

I want to see Morrigan and Lelianna in DA3 but I would prefer an all new cast. Also I hope Bioware return to their roots of DAO as the Dialogues and chatter while adventuring were a lot more funny and LOL worthy than than that in DA2.

If I were you, I'd be careful what I wished for.

If you see Fenris, that means he won't be with your Hawke,which can mean a lot of things--probably unpleasant since the DA team likes things extremely dark and not happy. Look at Leliana. Those poor wardens who romanced her are now separated from her--no happy-ever-after for them.

#1 Varric - Dude, its Varric, this dwarf is awesome!
#2 Isabela - Pirate queen! See #4 too.
#3 Alistair - but only really as a cameo and maybe a couple fight scenes.
#4 Sandal & Bodhan - It just seems natural for them to be in the next game.

#6 Morrigan - I heard she might already be in it.
#7 Wynne - She's pretty cool, but I guess it would depend if she lived or not at the end of the first game.

well it would be interesting to see Morrigan and Flemeth again, maybe both of them started a rivalry over something, maybe, on who get's to keep morrigan's baby god and use it's power for evil or somthing like dat, alternatively,flemeth is hunting down morrigan for revenge and to steal her body and you get to help morrigan or turn her over. you get to choose sides. also, i would like to see Isabella coz she's an interesting character and her party banters always made me laugh. and of course... i would really love to see my warden and hawke on da3 and interact with them or maybe become at least a temporary party member. it would put a big smile on my face when i die due to computer radiation.

Call me weird but I don't want any of the previous characters to appear if possible- a few minor characters sure, but none of the old party members. The appeal of Dragon Age is that each story is self-contained with its own protagonist and characters, that way a sequel can't ruin what came previously.

All Alistair and Zevran's cameo's in DA2 did was make me wince at how awful they looked. And then theirs that issues with dead characters appearing... yeah...

I'm pretty sure Varric and Anders are going to be in it.
Varric is the storyteller so i'm sure he'll probably be the narrator, or in the bar telling people about his adventure's with Hawke.
And Anders made history he blew up the Chantry for crying out loud.
The rest i don't want in it.. maybe a little Alistair ( Yes i gotta thing for Alistair )

 I really hope they bring Cullen back for DA3. But this time as a companion (and possible LI?). He seems like he would fit well with the plot for DA3. And then definantly Morrigan aswell.. because i heart her  Anders would also fit well with the DA3 plot so he would be a good pick too.

Very few hopefully. I think too many token cameos wouldn't do justice to the characters, but there are a few I'd quite like to see return. A Morrigan appearance might be interesting because her story still feels like it's not yet concluded. Bodahn and Sandal need to continue to be the party camp cheerleaders. Feynriel had potential, but shame he could be killed and therefore less chance of more than a cameo. And Cullen seemed like a decent character, or atleast one of the few Templars who were relatable.

I don't mind any of the past companions coming back as cameos, but I'd prefer them not to come back as companions... Too many variables, especially if it's any of the past potential love interests. I don't mind past NPC's coming back as companions though. I'm hoping Cullen will be a companion/LI in DA3.

Well, I've had enough of Anders' whiny ass, so no. In the game, he was the necessary evil.

Considering that Morrigan and Varric are two best written companions in the franchise - I'd say Varric even outclasses DAII protagonist - at least a cameo from them both, though I wouldn't terribly mind for Varric to be a companion in DA3. Come on, you can't not like this snarky dwarf. That being said, anyone think he'd get along well with Oghren?

We had Leliana and Morrigan in the first game, Izzy in the second one - any candidates for the team's sexy one? I rather liked Izzy. Her banter with Varric put a smile on my face.

I'll be offended if there's no Zevran.

Most importantly. I know she was a DLC character, but nobody likes pidgeon bombs. So, SHALE(insert your chosen number of exclamation marks)

Varric, Oghren, Shale - party banter wet dream?

I know it's not really a character, but I think a brothel employing dwarves is something of a must, don't you?

I think if Morrigan is included we will end up being disapointed. Would love to see her again though!

I would also like Cullen to be a companion, i think he has great potential.

Cullen as a companion/LI might be interesting. I do except to see Sandal and Bodahan somewhere since Bodahan said they were going to Orlais.

I would like to hear about my version of old companions, Hawk and the Warden I don't want any of them in the game.

After the comics, it sounds VERY feasible that Alistair will play a role given the location of DA3. Thankfully!
