Do DA:O and DA2 really have a villian? Not in my opinion.

They have characters who play an antagonistic role for a varying amounts of time, but no true villians.

For most of Origins, Loghain was the villian. An you could argue all day whether or not he's a true villain, since his believed what he was doing was the best thing for Ferelden.

As for the whole archdemon/blight thing, one could also argue that in the fantasy world of Dragon Age, blights = natural disasters. You can try all you want to prevent a hurricane from coming, but it's still gonna come. And hurricanes aren't villians.

It would be a twist and a surprise to have the villain for later games to have appeared in the earlier games. 

Much like how things are introduced in books, you get a glimpse of them but don't truly understand who or what they are. 

If it's a new character then that would be much like giving us ANOTHER NEW PROTAGONIST!

On topic and jokes aside: the main villain probably won't be anyone. I predict another cliffhanger happening on the cliffs of a mountain, where you and your party can see the Qunari dreadnoughts approaching and launching a barrage of blackpowder cannon fire into the cities.

And we shall see Sten, and he shall have a goatee and a box of kittens in one hand and a box of cookies in the other.

And before the credits roll, he will look to the camera and say.....

....

Our warden from DA:0 as the super archmage insane bloodmage battlemage arcane warrior leading the mages against the templars and when you finally get to face him he summons a storm of the century on top of your army and its game over.

Flemeth, her saving of both Warden and Hawke and both vanishing seems too much coincidence. I didn't put much thought behind it but one of the stories of her being an abomination and Merrills story about some ancient god (Dread Wolf I think) tricking the other two groups of gods from earth may has some connection, like it wasn't a demon that merged with Flemeth but the Dread Wolf god.

Is Witch hunt still canon or not? Because Morrigan specifically states that Flemeth never was human. Meaning she isn't an abomination. That she's something else.

OOOOH! I just thought of something! You never see the "Spirit of Faith" that protects Wynne, so what if that is flemeth, too? I mean, Wynne stays alive in Awakenings even if you killed her.

I figure that there isn't going to be a "main villain" in DA3, probably a bunch of smaller evils Crescendoing into a huge facedown. Although they kinda set up the Idol against Flemeth. It seems like that might have been Hawke's purpose, at least according to Flemeth.

I quite liked master Li from Jade Empire. The only Bioware villain I actually respect.

Well, normal dragons aren't gods on par with the power of the Maker. I remember David Gaider made a post some time ago where he said that the Old Gods were neither creators nor were they created. They exist outside of the Maker's plan.

So, in a sense they're equal to the Maker's power in godhood and aren't really restricted into a set gender.

It sounds like esoterical nonsense in terms of lore and story, so I'd love to find out that its Word of God stuff.
