Last week, the estimated delivery date of my Amazon DA:O CE order was November 9th, so I changed the shipping method to 2-days, which brought delivery in to November 6th.

Thanks to this thread, I went online to check my personal email, and found a notice from Amazon that my game shipped on November 1st, at 9 pm. I'm stoked!

What country do you live in?

I'm in the U.S.  (Western NY.)  Now... Amazon's definition of "shipped" means that they have billed your account, and have notified your chosen carrier of your order.  It doesn't mean that the item is actually in route.  Once your order hits Amazon's shipping dock, they consider it "shipped."  Your order may sit there for some time, or the carrier may have been notified to pick your order up on November 3rd.  Don't expect that UPS, or FedEx picked up anything during the weekend, in the U. S.

I got an email on Saturday that my CE had shipped. This will be regular mail, so it depends on how long it takes for the Pony Express (or lame mule) to arrive.

The odd thing is that there is now no sign on my Amazon account that the order ever existed. I've never seen that happen before.

The reason for your orders disappearing on Amazon is because you probably preordered it. Select view orders from the last 6 months and scroll down to your DA:O purchase and click view order. Once you're in there you should be able to get the tracking number/order details. At least that's how it was for mine. Mine shipped today and I paid for overnight shipping so it'll arrive tomorrow.

Yay! :)

If you have a distribution center near where you live, Amazon has already shipped it there. They may also have shipped the game to a UPS distribution center near you and then UPS will ship it to you on Tuesday (if you pre-ordered and got release date delivery). No worries.

If you go into your account amazon has a beta order thingy (sorry for the technical jargon), click on that and it will get you to your info. The link in the e-mail doesn't go to that.

I'm assuming you pre-ordered it more than a month ago? If so, select "orders placed in the past 6 months" from the drop down menu and it should be there.

I just checked again this afternoon. DA is "preparing to ship."

So it appears I'll get the game by Wednesday. With any luck, tomorrow. I'll just have to wait and check again when it is officially shipped.

My order (of the CE) has been at the "shipping soon" phase for at least two days. I am sad.

My CE is in limbo as well. It's the day before release and I pre-ordered in August and chose 1 day shipping. My account hasn't been charged yet and my CE is still, as of 2 minutes ago, "shipping soon".

I encourage you to check your local Wal Mart at midnight and then if you don't get one, go to Best Buy tomorrow and be there when they open the doors.

I hope I can grab a CE from Wal Mart or Best Buy so I can let Amazon know how I feel about this whole fiasco.  I didn't pre-order 4 months early to have to wait until 2 days after the release date to get the game.

I had selected one-day shipping on my CE with Amazon and all this time it said i was getting it on the 5th, but now i got a tracking number and it says the 3rd, nice!,

FYI I'm in Seattle WA, (which sucks because amazon has sales tax here)

I hope all you guys get no problems with delivery either, let the fun begin!

 Dude...

I swear I'm never pre-ordering another game from Amazon again.

I pre-ordered a CE in freaking Aug. I chose 1 day shipping and my order hasn't even been shipped yet. I also have a projected arrival date of the 5th.

So not only did I put my order in before this guy, but I paid more money for shipping and I'm still getting the game 2 days late?

Does anyone know how canceling an order from Amazon after it's been shipped works?

I'm going to hit up my local Wal-Mart at midnight to see if I can get my hands on a CE. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna be at Best Buy waiting for the doors to open tomorrow to get a CE and it will be cheaper than Amazon.

If I can get one from either store, then screw Amazon.

The exact same thing happened to me. I ordered the CE in Sept. There was no release-date option, and the delivery day was listed as 11/5, even though I selected the most expensive shipping option. When I realized the regular edition has release-date shipping, I contacted amazon to complain. I went back and forth with their "customer service" people who completely didn't understand the issue. After sending about 4 emails expressing how unhappy I was to be paying $20 more plus shipping but getting the game 2 days later than the cheaper version, I canceled the CE order and ordered the regular edition, and picked release-date shipping. THEN I complained again to Amazon, AND sent an email to Bioware. FINALLY, I got a higher up at amazon who gave me a $10 promotional code...

I am still completely unhappy that I had to sacrifice my CE version and will NEVER EVER order a pre-release from amazon again. NEVER.

Sorry to hear that, man. But at least you'll have the game in some form on release day.

I'm hoping UPS doesn't show up till later, so I'll be home from work and some dumb teen punk doesn't run off with my CE edition. I'd find my glock at that point, either that or one of my swords...which would be more appropriate to hunt down the little darkspawn! Image IPB

Unfortunately with Amazon shipping estimates you have to be willing to take it on faith and trust them that they'll get you things earlier then they say.  The November 5th date was almost certainly generated by a overly conservative shipping estimation (Game release November 3rd, one day Shipping would be November 4th, add an extra day just in case.)   The reality is that they started putting the game in boxes and shipping them early.  My CE preorder wasn't supposed to ship according to the order page until November 9th, yet it actually shipped on the 1st.    I've ordered in-stock stuff from them, been told it won't ship for a week, and yet its almost always shipped the next day.

But if you want to be absolutely sure you get the game on the release day, and you don't want to stress waiting for the shipping email and confirmation of that, Amazon might not be the best place to order from.

You know what pissed me off? The fact that the regular edition had a release-date option and the CE didn't. I suspected that the CE would arrive on time, because, clearly, they had the CEs in stock with the regular editions. There is just something inimical in the notion of offering LESS customer service and options to the customers paying for the premier product.

Simply, there should be the exact same release date shipping option for the CE and the same pipeline of information -- OR, if they don't know that they will have it, they shouldn't sell it until received.

I emailed Bioware to let them know that if they have any influence at all with their retailers, this is a shipping issue worth fixing. Bioware wants to encourage people to pay more for the CE. Amazon is undermining that business objective.

best thing to come home from work to.
