You know whats amazing at dealing with the wolves? Parry. Seriously the only thing parry isn't awesome against are trolls... cause you can't parry them at your current level (and may never be able to). There is something very... fulfilling about CHARGING at a wolf that is charging you and parrying his face as he lunges. I realize that makes no sense, and is a horribly incorrect use of the word parry but... whatever. I put the ward in the face and the wolf flies away, maniacly laughter ensues as the sword swings.

DL'd the Origin demo of KoA; Reckoning. Played it to the very end and watched the concluding animation. Got both ME3 dlc's without a hitch.

Interesting, but I don't think the game 's for me. I'm sure my opinion of KoA is warped with memories of Fable III. Still... maybe some day.

but i can't unlock the last item - The Chakram Launcher
I play demo, completing the full Reckoning demo and seeing the call to action video in its entirety and the window with unlocking message, but in this http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php i can't see this unlocking item.

Download the demo from Steam, rather than Origin. Origin is having issues showing the unlock for The Chakram Launcher, but Steam doesn't have that problem.

I don't (and won't) download the demo through Steam. This is something EA should fix, not I.
I'll just download it through Steam. Ranting about it doesn't help anyone.

Anyway, if I hadn't pre-ordered ME3 through Origin, I probably would've pre-ordered KoA (though I could always ask for a refund for the ME3 pre-order... I still have 11 days left to get a refund).
But on the other hand, I might wait until the game's cheaper...

And now I don't know anymore. I like both games! I'm in a crisis here... My OCD-like counterpart wants ALL the pre-order goodies for ME3, but I also want KoA. And chances are I can only have one. Shucks.

Oooh. Well as much as I love Amalur I'd still... go for ME3 and get Amalur when you can afford it. Amalur is awesome, and amazing. Has hundreds of hours of stuff to do and all that but... ME3 is the end of one hell of a saga you know? That has been my priority over anything else for the past few years. Managed to get enough together for the CE, was lucky enough to have some extra for Skyrim which I did not expect to have so... that was the second pick.

And turns out I was able to nab a pre-order of Amalur today soo I took that opportunity heh. Unless you meant spending so much moneys you could get every pre-order bonus available via different stores or something crazy.

I've been planning on placing a pre-order for KoA on Origin. I must admit, I like Origin more than I thought.

I already had pre-ordered the ME3 CE from a retailer, but they didn't get the N7 Warfare Gear. When I read on Origin that I would get all the exclusive pre-order DLC if I pre-ordered there, I went ahead and placed one (Origin is also much more useful since Steam is blocked on my school, preventing me from playing games during breaks while Origin is not). That basically means two pre-orders of ME3, which is insane. I can still cancel it (according to the Terms of Sale I have 14 days, of which 3 have already passed), but my OCD counterpart protests. There's no way to be sure that the pre-order exclusives can be bought later on as DLC. And looking at the Terminus armor for ME2 and the other pre-order exclusives for DA2, I don't think they will.

I don't have any clue on what I should do. Go with the pre-order bonuses and satisfy the OCD counterpart in me? Or get KoA and dive into a new adventure? I could always wait until it's cheaper...

If I was you I'd drop your origin pre-order and stick to the CE ME3 (due to it having a lot of physical material and interesting in game stuff) and get Amalur. That's just me though. There is no reason to justify 60 bucks for the sake of 1 shotgun. They're 3 weapon, 1 armor DLC was 1/30th of that price. Can you really justify full price of a game for 1, lousy shotgun?

Opposed to having Amalur to play for an entire month before ME3 is released? That's how I'd look at it. It comes out the 7th, you got 30 days to play it before ME3 h its on march 6th (or whatever you release dates are respectively, still 30 days). That's a lot more awesome for you money. And you wont have 2 copys of the 'same game' for the sake of a crappy shotgun. And they got a lot of shotguns in ME3 with out that 1. Hell the Collectors Edition comes with its own shotgun.

Oh yeah....forgot to post my experience with the PSN version of the KoA demo on the PS3....horrendous. Textures weren't loading right at times when it seemed there was no ground under my feet yet I walked around just fine, other times some enemies when killed would cause texture break covering up half the screen oh and half way through the demo the sound broke completely going to silent mode except for combat sounds, NPCs were flapping their lips senselessly and the world was mostly dead silent.

Fortunately my items unlocked....not that I'll ever play KoA or ME3 on the PS3 after I've seen nothing but excellence on the 360 when playing the same content many hours before PSN even released its broken version of that content.

Honestly the biggest issue seems to be the unlocking of The Chakram Launcher for PC players right now.

The occasional freeze is normal in most huge games....even Skyrim has them but they're fairly rare. I haven't experienced any myself but don't consider it an issue unless they happen too often. So yeah the 360 KoA demo has been good to me too. As for PC.....well it's the PC, things are always harder, some of the stories that reveal the struggles to just get a game running on hardware and software that is "fully supported" can be quite horrific....not that anything can be worse than EA's Origin mind you.

Yeah, I guess you're right... KoA sounds cool and I think I'm going to pre-order it. I just sent a message with the question if my pre-order could be cancelled. Hopefully they will do that.

Not sure if it was posted here, I think it was earlier. but looks like 36/BHG weren't even the ones who made the demo. A third party at EA ripped out a chunk of it from the main game and made the demo off that. I mean that's... scary. I'm actually surpsied it works as well as it does considering the folks who're making it didn't split this off half a year ago to do this personally.

Third party whipping it up via that method is, I dunno... Well I'm just happy it works heh.

Not sure if it was a specific company or just folks who work at EA. EA has people like that, so does microsoft. Folks who work at the bigger company who're capable of supporting companys there publishing games for. But the head of 38 studios (that baseball dude) made a statement about that few days ago, wish I could remember where. Probably there own forums. I'll try to find it again and quote it here.

But its a damn miracle it works if you ask me.

Parry is indeed awesome.  I love smashing people in the face with my shield.

And you can parry trolls (at least the one at the end of the tutorial) but the timing is really weird/hard to get right.  I managed to do it once just by accident, and one other time.  You have to hit block after he starts charging you, just before he actually gets to you.  It's hard as heck to do, but it is possible.
