People shouldn't even be comparing KoA to blockbusters like Skyrim and DAO.

KoA is the first game of a new IP from a not very large or popular studio.

It has the opportunity to be great, but it shouldn't be unfairly stacked up against heavy hitters like Bethesda's or Bioware's titles.

We can compare it to DA2 though, cause that game sucked hard.

You are probably right, but Im not the only one who will compare games.
Reviewers will do that too;)

And I think its better then DA2

Okay, thanks. Seems like I have to play the demo again... It's unlocked by reaching the play-time limit, yes?

you can just stand around in town and leave the game alone when the 45 min timer starts.

After the 45 minute timer runs out, you unlock The Chakram Launcher, an assault rifle for Mass Effect 3.

Reviewers are iffy. The best review is your own review, after all.

I'll play the game and review it myself. Yeah, I'll look at reviews beforehand, but in the end its up to me whether I'll like the game or not.

Hell, DA2 got good reviews before it released and it was a piece of cr- well, you know.

KoA could end up the same way, I just realllly hope it doesn't.

DA2 was amazing....gameplay wise and overused locations didn't matter one bit to me....the story was an enormous improvement over DAO and the immersion factor was a thousand times higher.

Differing opinions make the world go round, so I'm glad SOMEONE enjoyed it.

I bet KoA will have the same differing opinions. Not to the extremes of DA2's split in the fandom, however.

Yes, the qualifications are the same.

It links to your gamertag/PSN ID or on PC it should link to whatever your EA account is, I imagine.

You should be able to see if you have the items in your entitlements page.

On this page go to the left where it says Profile and click Your Registered Game Content.

The unlocked items should be at the top of the list.

Yeah that happens when they make KoA: 2, that's when the fanbase can start ****ing and moaning about how there ruining the world and gaming in general and all that nonsense. I liked DA2, It had some problems with me as far as the third act not really... meshing well. Mostly they just didn't introduce characters till what amounts to the beginning of that so it felt more like an expansion then part of the... Meh anyways. Still liked it.

Here's another fun KoA fact of how big the game world is, 120+ hand crafted dungeons.

How many did Skyrim have?

I'd rather be interested how many hand crafted cities. I like hacking and slashing my way through hundrets of dungeons as much as everyone but it can get repetitive even if the dungoens look slightly different.

About the same actually. Originally it was '100 unique locations and 120 dungeons'. Though I think they 'bumped' that number up to 150-ish later on. That said, the 1 room cave with a single bear in it near that... town on your way to the grey beards was considered a dungeon. As the number was split between 5-10 minute mini-caves and hour long dungeons.

So I kinda feel like that number was a bit ehh..Well. The ones in the demo aren't to huge I guess, least I was able to get through 3 of them in the time I had by rushing like a madman. Still that's a lot of stuff to deal with outside of the landmass you can see on the map. Not even counting the cities.

Kinda hope that arena like place on the world map is an actual arena. Love arena stuff in games like this.

-edit-
Ahh cities, that one I'm not 100% sure of. I'm pretty sure 2 of the 'factions' are the fae, and I don't know how much there cities are 'cities' but if you do the Ballad quest, they send you to there, what amounts to a city. You can't get there due to being blocked off but thats south of the starting location.

2 major cities in the north section of the map, port cities. I think you have to take a boat from them to get to the other side of the continent, though there maybe bridges along that river/casme thing.

The Arena thing I was mentioning looks like another city, or well just south of it looks like a huge city kinda... build into the ground and whatnot. Each action has its own town-like area. That ringkeep thing you can get to (but can't enter) in the demo is the Warsworns, which are basically the fighter guild. The Travelers (aka, thieves guild) are more of a roaming band so theirs is more of a large camp somewhere. I want to say the south down by the arena has the mages guild.. think that's where the dark elves are.

So yeah I have no idea, to be honest, how many full on cities there are but there's definitely a few spread out, not counting small towns or settlements. Think the place with that spiky mountain in the middle is a 'planes' like area has a few spread out mining settlements. I... think.

The first time I played it it didn't have a timer in it. I played atleast 3hrs.I completed 5-6 quest. Then I played it again next day, which the timer was on then. At the end of it unlocked The Chakram Launcher. It's fairly a good game, but you can tell it wasn't made for PC by the options you have(like keyboard and mouse) and GFX settings. I know it was a Demo but I don't think the main game when released will be any better.
I give it thumbs up but ME3 is the next title for me. Maybe after that if the released game reviews for PC are good.

You know, as "bad" as DA2 apparently was, I had much more fun while playing it over DA:O.  The main thing I did not like was the recycled environments and "OH NOEZ ANOTHER WAVE!!!!".  The main thing I really missed from DA:O were any kind of compelling characters that could compete with Alistair or Morrigan (two of the best voice acted characters in recent memory).  Varric came the closest I guess, but at a very distant second.  I also think that the mundane story of DA2 was actually superior to the cliched and recycled story of DA:O.

I do think DA2 was under rated for how good the game was. but what spoilt it for me was definetly the ending, the recycled environments and the previous decisions had no influence except some changing in convos.

No, the timer was always there. What you probably didn't realize is that the timer started after you met the Fateweaver outside of the initial dungeon- the dungeon doesn't count towards the 45 minutes as it takes place prior to that.

My first playthrough was a couple of hours as well, but after you beat the demo, if you decide to play it again you can skip the opening dungeon and go straight outside. That would make the timer more noticeable.

Yeah with my obsessive need to go over skill information (still trying to figure out exactly how HP/MP is dished out) my first run through lasted 3 hours. All thanks to it pausing in menus and chatting with folks. Was nice it paused then, let you explore conversations with out feeling rushed. Easily one of the nicest demos I've played in recent times, awkward bugs aside.

While a lot shorter, though, the Darkness 2 Demo also... really wanna play that game. Looks like an awesome follow up for anyone who liked the 1st one (which I did heh).

well after 8 playthroughs my impression changed from "meh" to "SHUTUPANDTAKEMYMONEY", but still 2 things concern me a blot
1, the demo is broken, even on the consoles which are the more stable gaming platforms its still very buggy, not unplayable but if the final product is at the state of the demo than it's far far away from being ready to release. Yes skyrim can be busted and still get away with it, but a new IP being buggy is a death sentence, period.

2, how well will the game hold up? im pretty sure the first few hours will be awesome, but will it end too soon? As we can see the world map, the gameworld is formed by "zones" connected with roads, and there are about 40 zones, in the demo we can access  2 zones, in 45 minutes we can finish most of the quests in 2 zones, i assume if you take your time, an averge gamer can finish a zone in an hour, so after 50 hours of playing do i still have things to do? I hope the game can provide me a huge vast world not some Fable like tiny world which finished way too soon and no reason to come back.

@Darthsam: You really should of been reading the stuff I've been posting. But I'll go ahead and rehash some points. First off the buggy stuff...

Demo was not made by 38 Studios or Big Huge Games (BHG is the one directly developping the game). It was ripped out of the main game by EA and prepared, by EA for release. Basically a third party so the main group didn't have to split there time up, and EA wanted to get a demo out. Which I think is... surpising, not just from a technical perspective of it working as well as it does but that they actually did something good marketting wise. I mean they basically did fans a service with the ME3/KoA demos with the cross promotion while serving there purpose by backing KoA.

As for things to do, like I said before the starting location actually has quests missing. If you watch any 'first 30 minutes' footage on youtube you'll see quests in that starting town that don't exist in the demo. Like a lady praying at the graveyard has a quest for you, more stuff outside of it.

1: Over 120 Dungeons.
2: Main Quest Line about 40 hours long by its self.
3: 6 main factions with there own large quest line, that's 7 main quest lines all of which you get to decide how things turn out (much like BioWare games) which will give you reasons for alternate play throughs if thats your thing (it is for me).

So generally... yeah, your going to have stuff to do man. A LOT of stuff to do. This isn't a 40 hour romp when doing all the side quests. This is game is counted in hundreds of hours. And while the game is split up in zones like that, that is not a progressive zone split. you can get to any of that at the start of the game, its not story progress related, at least most of it isn't.

Some areas are harder then others, obviously, but there mostly split up that way for there 'bio-zones' they keep calling em. I think you'll be happy with the amount of content either way.
