haven't seen IGN say it only takes 50 hours for the main quests and faction stuff.

That's from over six weeks ago, so I don't know how he could have possibly finished, unless he was playing a "90% finished pre-polished" version. He doesn't actually come right out and say that he beat the game, but he's implying it.
He played the final code according to Curt "Ngruk" Schilling on the Reckoning forum. Link:

Curt is talking about the review in progress--which did not start six weeks ago. I am talking about a preview from six weeks ago where the guy is hyping the game up and implying that he's already finished it. Don't forget the "colorful" PCGamer review for DA2.

*edit: Oh god, this IGN review in progress is stimulating my gag reflex. It's so ultimately naive and superlative that it just screams "EA paid again".
It looks less like an implied 'I already beat the game' and more of a
misinformation slip up like they did in the 'review in the making'. They
said at the beginning of that making thing you can pick 'from 4 classes
at the start'.... 4 classes. It's races, not classes. The Destiny
system is the races. This is part of the reason i stopped going to IGN
they constantly get basic **** incorrect.
Yeah, that made me laugh. I mean, right away I thought "here they go again". That's why I usually don't ever put any stock into their opinions about difficulty/polish or whatever since there's so many payoffs with that site. I was just using the cited playtime as an example of how the game won't be anywhere nearly as long as the developers claimed (which is usually how it is). I also have NO IDEA how in the hell it took you 80 hours to finish DA:O. I did everything you could possibly do and it took me 38. That was on the difficulty just below Nightmare though for my first.
Then again, I didn't use the garbage classes, but instead had an Arcane Warrior with two other Mages. I didn't intentionally set out to cheese/ez-mode my way through the game either, because I had no idea at the start how it would turn out. I just quickly realized how terrible an actual tank specced Warrior build was, as well as the tactics system being totally broken/non functional for anything but drinking potions so I simply used AE for everything except the bosses and just had Leliana as my utility class.
